Suggestion about rendering

Hello! I apologize if this has already been mentioned. I would like to suggest adding DirectX 12 support to the game, specifically to Source 2.
At the moment, all graphics cards that only support DirectX 11 have been officially discontinued for roughly two years (Kepler). In Deadlock, these GPUs are already practically unusable due to numerous visual and performance issues.
Additionally, operating systems that do not support DirectX 12 have long been unsupported by both Steam and Deadlock. Because of this, adding DirectX 12 should not introduce compatibility concerns with legacy hardware or software.
Supporting DirectX 12 could also provide noticeable performance improvements on modern systems. Both I and several of my friends are currently experiencing performance issues, and DirectX 12 could potentially help alleviate them on Windows 10 and 11.
I am not suggesting removing DirectX 11 support - only adding DirectX 12 as an additional option.
This is, of course, only a suggestion, but I would be very grateful if you could take it into consideration. Thank you for your hard work!

Have you tried Vulkan? You can use the -vulkan command line parameter to test it out and see if it improves performance for you.

Specifically, the usage of my GPU and CPU under Vulkan is not high; the CPU usage is around 70%, and the GPU is only between 60% and 80%.

can confirm. mine is rx 580 2048 sp, setting to vulkan is twice as worse than dx11, quite unplayable levels, and as dx11 i play at 70% stretch, 90~ fps
My computer is configured with an R5 5600X, RX7650GRE, and 32GB DDR4 3200MHz. Under Vulkan, the frame rate is 30-40 FPS lower than DX11, and it's very unstable—sometimes high, sometimes low.

Yes, I tried Vulkan, but DirectX 11 has better performance, for me personally. With Vulkan, I have multiple freezes and generally less stable FPS than on DirectX 11. With DirectX 11, I can at least play the game somehow, but with Vulkan I have a lot of problems.

What GPU, OS, and driver version are you on?

And yes, I wanted to say that I understand that DirectX 12 is a low-level API, and in terms of complexity it is roughly comparable to Vulkan. However, in the long run, its implementation would clearly be worth the effort. Especially for future, more demanding games built on Source 2.
On Windows, DirectX 12 would inherently perform better than Vulkan. In addition, the Windows user base is significantly larger than that of Linux or macOS, for example. If DirectX 13 is ever released, migrating to it would also be far easier than the transition from DirectX 11 to DirectX 12.
DirectX 12, at least at this point in time, is quite relevant and not what it was 10 years ago. Again, this is just a suggestion, but I sincerely hope that DirectX 12 will eventually be added to Source 2, as it could have a very positive impact on performance, especially CPU performance due to better multi-threading.

I hope that the next version of Deadlock can further optimize the game's performance and visual effects style, allowing the game to run at high frame rates and with high stability. The effects don't need to be too flashy, but the style should be consistent.
