Bad Matchmaking Thread

This is my last 8 matches, and overall I think my win rate is pretty good. I think I perform pretty decently (9/10 I stomp my lane opponent during laning phase) but the quality of players in my lobby seem to be all stagnant. I want to play against tougher opponents and have better teammates. Am I just playing at a bad time, which causes the value of matches to be lower? I really want to know... :(

3-stack made up of 2 literally brand-new players (haze and abrams) and their friend (warden)

match was found instantly too, which suggests to me that the matchmaking system actually thinks it's a sensible game

I assume misplaced players skillwise as the souls for the teams has a 60k difference and with that theres one on my team thats 0-16

Almost every game I play I end up having most kills and networth, usually winning line stage (getting first blood etc). Sometimes its fast games, sometimes they are long, but I will mix them as I send matchid's. Also I will mix wins and looses, becouse even if your team lost sometimes regardless of that you can still perform pretty well. I feel like I outclass my opponents in every way possible, so sometimes they just asking to finish game faster.

25007501 One of my first games, where I literally had 30 minutes in the game. Just from the kda's you can see how big of a differance between EVERYONE. I dont know if it makes sense sending matchid's like this since their storing time is expired, but so far this is the best example.
 
I'm literally unable to find a match in North America.

I've tried using citadel_region_override 0 IN CONSOLE and IN AUTOEXEC, multiple times DURING QUEUE and OUT OF QUEUE.

I've tried using a VPN set to an adjacent location to mine (example: New York City).

Literally NOTHING I have tried works to get me where I'm supposed to be. All of my games are +81ms. My match quality is down the drain.

What the hell am I supposed to do?

21 minute game 47k soul difference. average rank is archon 5 and yet paradox dies 5 times to bebop in lane and doesnt buy reactive barrier

It is actually insane to play 28 games in a row and lose all 28 games in a row. Dropping from Phantom to Oracle and now to Archon. Full on loss stomps. Always with 1 or couple of teammates not in the proper rank cause of the bullshit and fuck all you guys give. I understand winning and losing close to 50% or even losing to close games. Honestly done with this game. Sad with the constant posts of poor matchmaking and toxic community nothing is being done and the game is changing for the worse the past 2 months.
 
First game with solo matchmaking disabled, just as one sided with 2 absolutely useless players who're not even close to the skill of this lobby1732666678895.png
 
Another game without solo matchmaking, just as unbalanced as the last one and now with a player that 100% belongs in low priority queue being Seven, decided to throw and feed for a single kill and was toxic the entire time. Props for making the matchmaking worse every single time.1732668751252.png

One player obviously head and shoulders above the rest, ruining it for everyone.

This is almost certainly caused by removing ranked play and making him play with his much lower "Standard" MMR. This is horrible. I cannot overemphasize how bad matchmaking has become.

That screenshot really does tell a story of a horrible experience. I can *feel* those bombs and beams.
 
I'm trying to play with 3 friends. Ranks averaging from emissary to archon.

Every single match we match with a few people clearly way above our ranks.

The result usually is matches with 8-9 people with 0-5 kills, and 3-4 people with 15+ kills dominating the other ones.

It's often a stomp, but even when it's "balanced" it's not fun to play with people that are clearly in a different level.

I don't think we've played in a balanced lobby in the previous 30 games.

We are very close to giving up playing because of this. It would be much better to wait more time for better matches than play a miserable match every single time.

I think it's pretty clear at this point they missed the mark trying to combine the queues.
To try to leave some actual constructive feedback:
1.) Please track a %left the game metric on players and set a threshold that sends them to the lowest possible rank (if you insist on keeping the MM combined). If you are willing to split it back up - which I think people across the board are in favor of - give these players week long at a time time-outs from ranked play. There needs to be more of a consequence for leaving the game other than a short timeout to queue and 1 loss of MMR when these people are consistently ruining the experience for 11 others. (Also possibly a team-vote "resign" option)
2.) Obviously make the solo queue prefer actually work - that will fix a lot of the complaints in here.
3.) Set a ceiling/floor to the ranks that can get into a given avg tier game (e.g. - if it's an Archon game on average, the lowest rank pulled in should not be initiate etc.. and shouldn't have high level ascendent player either even if that balances out the overall MMR - there needs to be intelligent floors and ceilings set relative to the averages).
4.) If you insist on keeping only 1 MM queue - try to think of a way that new players can learn and have fun (e.g. unranked queue where they don't get screamed at for not knowing wtf is going on) - or some other way to not scare off new people from playing the game, cause it is a great game (only have around 100 hours on it so far, but it's really good, so we should try to get more people to want to play it).

I understand a couple of these things will make the queue times longer, but will dramatically improve the overall quality of the games and experience for the players.

Vindicta destroyed geist, got the walker in the first ten minutes and proceeded to kill everyone else. I was doing pretty well in my lane, but I got ganked because our lanes were all already gone.

The Amber Hand had doubled our souls before the 7 minute mark (16k souls vs 32k souls) and maintained that pace throughout the match. 120k souls at 18 minutes when we had 55k souls. Game ended at 19:44 with 127k souls vs 57k.1732694622325.png
