Bad Matchmaking Thread

I'm trying to play with 3 friends. Ranks averaging from emissary to archon.

Every single match we match with a few people clearly way above our ranks.

The result usually is matches with 8-9 people with 0-5 kills, and 3-4 people with 15+ kills dominating the other ones.

It's often a stomp, but even when it's "balanced" it's not fun to play with people that are clearly in a different level.

I don't think we've played in a balanced lobby in the previous 30 games.

We are very close to giving up playing because of this. It would be much better to wait more time for better matches than play a miserable match every single time.

I think it's pretty clear at this point they missed the mark trying to combine the queues.
To try to leave some actual constructive feedback:
1.) Please track a %left the game metric on players and set a threshold that sends them to the lowest possible rank (if you insist on keeping the MM combined). If you are willing to split it back up - which I think people across the board are in favor of - give these players week long at a time time-outs from ranked play. There needs to be more of a consequence for leaving the game other than a short timeout to queue and 1 loss of MMR when these people are consistently ruining the experience for 11 others. (Also possibly a team-vote "resign" option)
2.) Obviously make the solo queue prefer actually work - that will fix a lot of the complaints in here.
3.) Set a ceiling/floor to the ranks that can get into a given avg tier game (e.g. - if it's an Archon game on average, the lowest rank pulled in should not be initiate etc.. and shouldn't have high level ascendent player either even if that balances out the overall MMR - there needs to be intelligent floors and ceilings set relative to the averages).
4.) If you insist on keeping only 1 MM queue - try to think of a way that new players can learn and have fun (e.g. unranked queue where they don't get screamed at for not knowing wtf is going on) - or some other way to not scare off new people from playing the game, cause it is a great game (only have around 100 hours on it so far, but it's really good, so we should try to get more people to want to play it).

I understand a couple of these things will make the queue times longer, but will dramatically improve the overall quality of the games and experience for the players.

Vindicta destroyed geist, got the walker in the first ten minutes and proceeded to kill everyone else. I was doing pretty well in my lane, but I got ganked because our lanes were all already gone.

The Amber Hand had doubled our souls before the 7 minute mark (16k souls vs 32k souls) and maintained that pace throughout the match. 120k souls at 18 minutes when we had 55k souls. Game ended at 19:44 with 127k souls vs 57k.1732694622325.png

We got rolled (literally) by the other team. Shiv and Paradox were p much carrying the entire team. Why did Shiv get buffs? This bastard is already strong as is [ID: 29185208]

so picture this. I'm viscous in a tight battle in a 1v1 lane vs a good geist. I'd just grabbed the bridge buff so we're just past 10 minutes when a well fed gank squad arrives. I look up to the score board and see this image. Apparently the game is over all ready.

The shiv said this was his first ever game on shiv and he took responsibility for our loss. In his defense he is laning against an FPS twitch streamer and a good mcginnis i've played against many times in ranked. No one had said anything because people don't use comms in casual.

You took a casual player, taking baby steps into pvp, and put them head to head against veteran killers. That decided the entire match. Maybe i could have noticed earlier, but what could I have done to stop this? I have hundreds of hours of viscous, but the overwhelming sensation is that there was nothing I could do about it. This feeling of exasperation and hopelessness is the state of the game right now.

This match was over before it started.

and just to make it clear I'm not bitter about losing, this was the game imediately prior. We utterly dominated from the very beginning and it was unsatisfying the whole time.

We were told it was the Haze's very first game, I'm 500 games in. How did you think this would end?

I was playing duo with my partner like always.
did okay on our lane. but MY GOD
0 kills on my team on all other lanes. what on earth happened here.

we played well in our lane but so harshly stomped. were my team actually bots?
 
What the actual hell was this game, everyone in my team got absolutely stomped except for me: 29208389.

I enjoyed my lane because it was more challenging than usual, but why can't I also have better teammates on top of having tougher opponents???

The game ended in 15 minutes because the enemy knew how to end whilst my team just floundered like a fish out of water.

Still just getting absolutely slingshot between average mmrs in games, it's not fun at all to go from high quality high ascendant/eternus games to phantom games with maybe 2-3 ascendant players and sometimes even archon and oracle players in there. Before the patch it was just full high ascendant/eternus lobbies all the time with fast queues, idk what happened.

For 15+ games now game is unplayable. I either get griefing people in my team or leavers. Completely stomped every single lane. People are not going for objectives of any kind. How is this possible and why am i in the losing team always. Done with this game you can have it

if you want to artifically prolong games now can you at least add a surrender button so we dont waste our time?
