Bad Matchmaking Thread

Balanced matches prior to the so called "fix" yesterday, now there are nothing but HARD STOMPS in Oracle. Fucking disgusting and full of people who doesn't know shit, no clue about lane management or ANYTHING!

Yeah after spending 3 weeks climbing from Seeker 1 to Alchemist 5 all I really noticed are longer queue time - now 3-4 min is fast, usually takes 5-7.

In addition to that they clearly made something with hero picks and priorities - probably something to do with that new priority token :) (soon to be monetized) - so that I have not gotten my single top priority hero for like 10 games.
Will trick the system by putting all of them to low priority :D

Back to matchmaking topic - most of the games have been total roll-overs aka you lose badly at least 2 out of 3 lanes, by 10 min at least 2 people have 10-15 deaths and 0 contribution to a team. If you speak to them, they report you and you get muted for a week!

Sorry but what I started doing is just throwing hard these games and doing my best on ones that are 50/50 even though those are like 1 in 5 I would say = you lose badly 2, win easily 2 (in many games I don't even participate in team goals and see if it plays out 5v6 and it does = so bad is the difference in skill that we can win with me doing nothing for 10-15 min).

Valve you should do better than this, this is a joke not gonna lie.
Game is fun, but the fact that people learn how to play in Alchemist ranks or me testing legend builds in live game because we losing / winning by a mile... that is not fun, not how ranked should be. All I say - I might run out "fun" soon and quit, I need competition in a competitive shooter not just shiny effects and brainless teammates / opponents.

61253127 alchemist 3/4, this game was horrible we got rolled in under 30 mins

61232345 alchemist 4, others on my team didn't do so well and fed a lot, my lane partner was amazing though

Apolocheese for the long message but these are all of the recent games I've had that didnt feel fair

1) 62078563 - A very unfair and offensive match. People don't know how to play on Ascendant, and as a player/tester, I'm not very happy playing like that at these ranks.

In general, based on my personal experience over the last few days, playing/testing has become incredibly difficult and painful, due to the fact that most, or at least half, are not sitting in their own avg lobby. I don't even know what will save the current situation. I won't stop playing anyway, but I would like to see some meaningful changes in MM. Or if you can promote me to a higher rank. I'm really going crazy and starting to think that my account is cursed or in a shadow ban. Just a little burnout, thank you for your work and understanding.
 
I'm having problem with the recent matchmaking patch. literal NEW players are on my team [I'm oracle almost phantom, been dealing with a straight lose-streaks since patch], and the other team are Emmisarry-above ranking players stomping my team. before the patch I'm teamed-up with the same skill-level as me, but recently It's become horrible. I know this is not normal because I've experienced this before, And I was also there when It was FIXED. my recent teammates literally have no idea what they're doing. (62139943)

Also please don't assume that all average-high players can carry games, most of my role is a tank/disruptor. I can't carry lobbies.

Between the snowballing being too hard and matchmaking being bad, you've got to give us some kind of announcement when the game gets playable again

I also report someone for Cursing at me for staying in base to long. ps I was a Gray talent in that match I can drop both codes in this.

also have a com ban for the Random players feeding and And can't handle the realization of gun build are bad on spirit based heroes like Dynamo, Apollo, and rem.

The Holliday had a new, incomplete Steam profile so I'm assuming they're a smurf account. Maybe one of the others was smurfing as well. They were partied with all but the Apollo and once they got a significant lead in the match they co-ordinated to keep taking midboss, continuously pick us off in and around our base and fail to push with their trooper waves, sometimes allowing us to clear them which only had the effect of extending the match time further, essentially keeping us hostage in an hour long match. Unrelated to matchmaking fairness or quality discrepancy they continued to be weird and hostile in all chat. 1-2 of our players were newer. I've reported all in-game for griefing as well but just sharing here for extra visibility.

I am so tired of getting into games with people that just don't understand how to play the video game. The past 4 matches for me did not feel like high phantom games at all. My last game the lash left 8 minutes in after having an awful laning phase. I don't understand how I can keep getting games where it's just a complete stomp when I'm pretty far up the rank ladder. Awful matchmaking.

3 frontliners and a support vs 2 snipers, 1 support, 1 frontliner. Couldn't do anything against their dives except hold under walker, the only way we got any ground was holding until overtime and getting their spawns extremely staggered

Basing this off of Statlocker which appears to be accurate for how players perform and there average lobby rank-

There needs to be a tighter MMR bracketing for which players are matchmade whith eachother, or devs need to have a toggle for players who would prefer to wait longer for a match with similarly ranked players. Purely speculating, but my best guess is devs are averaging the players MMR to have the teams be "equivalent", but that is how you wind up with and Eternus with ritualist teammates vs. Oracle. This causes most games to feel like they live or die by who had the higher ranked player and if they carried due to the steep skill gap.

IMO either lock it to 1:1 where each team has the exact same ranks represented on each team or dont allow matches with players that are greater than 6 ranks a part. Would be curious for a dev right-up on their methodology at some point.
