Bad Matchmaking Thread

... How you suppose do objective damage on losing team? Why you say nothing about guys with 0 damage? And WHY you even compare his performance with his teammates. Compare it TEAM by TEAM.

I understand what you talking about, but take it wider than numbers. Its not much you can do when your team is losing. Thats how devs balance this games. There are no heroes that can win alone. Plus this matchmaking situation....
Simplified - why im must be tryhard when enemy win without effort?
If the person was out preforming his team by double than there would be an issue, But this guy is simply on par with his team team. If anything the one guy from the enemy team was the only issue, It wasnt a team issue, and he doesnt belong in a higher rank especially with 220 hours played. Im not saying you must try hard but when you have the same scores as your team than it clearly states you are just as good at your team. If they went 12-2 with like 5k objective damage than i would say this guy is screwed and is in elo hell, But this post is nothing but a complaint about losing.

But is it not still valid to report complete stomp games like this?

The change to matchmaking that happened on 10/10/25 was nothing short of incredible. Like many, I was frustrated with the quality of matches. The rank redistribution brought new life into the game for me. Prior to the 10/10 update, I was mid-high Arcanist rank, and stuck in Alchemist/Arcanist lobbies. I have been playing since summer of 24' and have nearly 900 matches played as of today. I am not an amazing player, but I like to think I understand many aspects of the game. After the 10/10 patch, the game placed me as Emissary IV.
Right away, I noticed a dramatic improvement in the quality of matches. Teammates were communicating more, strategizing lane match ups, itemizing, counter-itemizing, prioritizing key objectives, etc.. From 10/10 to 10/24 I played almost 100 matches. I learned a tremendous amount about how to be a better player and where I need to improve. The complexities and nuance of movement in Deadlock is insane.

During that time, I managed to climb from Emissary IV to Oracle III. Since 10/24, I have fallen to Archon */Oracle I. It is very possible that I have plateaued and this is an appropriate rank for me. My concern is that, after the patch on 10/24, I have seen a big uptick in behaviour that is more consistent with the Alchemist/Arcanist lobbies that I spent so much time in.
I have no evidence to back up my claims other than feelscraft. Is it possible that something happened with matchmaking in the 10/24 patch? Is the game ranking up other players with less overall matches and the current rank distribution is becoming skewed again?
Unrelated.. Can there be an option to turn off playing with pre-made groups if you prefer to play solo?
Could we also get an option within audio that allows for game sound attenuation when teammates are speaking please?

Things like this really piss me off, Because you are clearly just upset that you lost this game. By your score and your team You belong in that elo. Im getting sick of people like you clogging up the reports like this and taking away from the actual people that have this issue. Go look at my screen shots and youll see what having bad team mates really looks like and what being better than your team looks like.

You have 185 objective damage and 23k damage, Everyone other than your paradox played a normal game. Youre on calico one of the most fucking broken heroes in this game and youre going 6-5 with her. You belong in this elo and you can stop complaining about your team mates.

these are just from the past few days i have plenty more and much worse from prior id rather not go digging for. Of course im upset i lost the game it ruins my experience and wastes my time when i shouldnt be put in matches with people like that to begin with. two people in different lanes mind you basically fed (1/5 and 1/6 being our carry) and thats difficult to come back from even on characters ones comfortable with, let alone one i have 3 total matches played as. yet i STILL managed to out-perform 4 of my teammates in all but obj damage. better K/D, better player damage, equal to top assists on the team.

one doesnt need to marginally out-perform their teammates stat wise to recognize when someone has little to no game sense. this is OBVIOUSLY awful matchmaking, which the game is known to have. Im getting sick of being stuck with people who cant play. two people damn near fed and you expect me to carry them after theyve snowballed thousands on us bc you think the character is broken? get your head out of your ass

2 Eternus VI smurfs ( Vindicta less than 50 games) dominated the match.
Can you please take in consideration matchmaking around the highest party rank.

Use this thread to share matchids for games that you think the matchmaker did a bad job at. If you can explain what you felt was a problem in it that would be helpful as well.

Do not post matchids for games that were within the past 24 hours from this post. Games older than that are fine and games going forward are fine.

Thanks for the help

Duo Queue: as an Alchemist 3 with a Ritualist 1
Team average was Alchemist 6
Our enemy team was average of ORACLE
How is that even possible...

abrams is both smurfing (brand new account, level 1, 1 game owned [deadlock], private profile) and exploiting (split shot + apr + express shot to one-shot anyone who gets shoulder charged). scum behavior

So I'm gonna add quite a few games here. The past WEEK has been absolutely atrocious to me and I genuinely can't put my finger on why. I went from Ascendant I to Phantom V and probably will continue to skydive, which is beyond frustrating for me.
I'm doing everything I can to do my best, but 99,9% of the time it just is not impactful and either the games are lost at the draft or something else happens. I'll break it down below, but these are the losses I've had within the past week:

4632851546330839463328934639640446396404464017274640451046459758
4646187346463575464681104647040346478112465269934658822546588611
4659045746591883465942904659557446597289467036584670496146706062
4670606246708940467126354671488546716829

Out of 48 games (around ~36 games if we discount the times I played with a premade), I've had 29 losses. That's around a 20%-39% winrate. I usually have a winrate around 50% or 55%, with my lifetime win-rate around 52%. The only few wins I've had this week that are legitimate and not due to finding people to play with are a LOT smaller than that. Here's my takeaway from that:

- The games are absolutely HORRENDOUS quality. Either you get stomped in 20 minutes, or you just have a slogfest where the enemy team gets a 60-80k soul lead on you before they dare try to to win. There's maybe a handful of games that genuinely felt like a victory was possible and was deserved, and it highly depends on if you have a competent "main dps" (such as Haze, Infernus, Wraith, Mina, Mirage). And especially yesterday, where I played 10 games and won only 1, majority of my games I played were just lost at draft where they (for example) had Mo & Krill, Dynamo, Kelvin, Infernus, Haze and Pagie, and we had maybe Bebop and Wraith - or better yet, one game where we had no DPS when they had all the heroes which could win the game to them who even played their role perfectly. There's just so much you can do as a "non-meta" hero (putting it in " as every hero can be meta if played right) and you can only do so much when you've lost already at draft with heroes that have no synergy.

- People outright being toxic, abusive, trolling, harassing, sexist or throwing. I cannot stress how many damn games I've had where people just go "gg go next" and goes to sit AFK in spawn, AFK in jungle, AFK in whatever and refuses to cooperate with the rest of the team and admits it - or even leaves when they're taking our patron, not contesting it, which is so unbelieveably demoralizing and disrespectful. In TWO of my games I got a Russian dude who kept hurling insults at me both in Russian and English, calling me a whore and saying he'll throw the game because he doesn't like "that whore" and how I need to learn the game, yelling to the enemy team to report me simply for being a woman etc etc. I cannot STRESS how fucking demoralizing this is and how angry I feel that even if I reported them and was trying to avoid getting queued up with them, I STILL ended up in the same team with them where they continued their harassment and sexist treatment which is not something I want to experience when I've reported and blocked them. I've had victories I never thought was possible, but the fact I don't even get a chance have an unlikely victory is beyond frustrating.

- The games had had a MASSIVE uptick where I suspected multiple people of being cheaters. I actually confirmed even this with multiple of my games, which I also reported here, which is unconcieveable in a playtest. I know Yoshi put out the statement on the Discord about this and how they're looking into making the cheating detection more aggressive so props to you for that, but I still want to highlight this as a huge factor in why my games feel absolutely horrible.

- Lack of comunication. I have ticked the box I prefer a bit more competitive games, but in so many games I'm the only one using comms and there's nobody else even pinging anything else. It's frustrating when what are you supposed to do when nobody listens? Nobody communicates in a game heavily reliant on communicating?

- People who simply do not feel like they belong at this level. Sometimes I genuinely meet people who seem so lost and I genuinely don't know how they're playing on the same ranks. I'm talking people who actually never use their ability, only go afk in jungle, misses waves prio, has odd buying order, doesn't understand how to engage in teamfights and ends up 0-8-0. Sometimes that's me when my lane-mate doesn't communicate or is afraid of their own shadow - and that's why I'm working on improving myself so I could be able to win - but I genuinely don't understand how I'm having people going 0-12-0 on my team while the enemy Mina drops 20 kills. Is it smurfs? Is it cheating? Is it just someone having a good day? Who knows, but it's beyond frustrating being stomped by a main DPS that carries so hard when your own team doesn't perform at all to the same standard. I do hold myself also to this word, sometimes I play like shit, but I also feel like my overall performance is rather consistent.

- With the above factors in mind, the games just feel utterly demoralizing. There's just nothing you can do when one or more factors above are present. It just feels like you're slowly going insane: I've had multiple days where I'm on a losing spree of 9, and I take a break to the next day just to continue the losing streak. I don't know if the "Losers queue" is real or if there's something else at play. But it just doesn't feel possible to climb or maintain the rank with the heroes one wants to play as long as you're playing solo. The game heavily favours people who plays Main DPS heroes or "carry" heroes and if you don't get those on your team it's GG. Or if you do, you have to hope they're actually good and not struggling.

Here's the kicker, why it bothers me. The lower lobbies I get put in, the more "stompy" the games feels for me. The lower lobbies I am in, the lower rank I get put in, the more it just genuinely seems like I'm outperforming most people on my own team and enemy team - not by a lot, but still enough that it makes a larger impact. And then it feels like "involuntary smurfing", where I'm basically causing chaos in the lobbies I'm not supposed to be in. Don't get me wrong, I'm not Deathy so I wouldn't be able to stomp everyone; but it's enough that I know I'm not belonging in this rank and seeing that I perform quite average in the Ascendant rank, I'm suspecting my current skill is somewhere around there and not lower.

So in conclusion... Did I piss of a Valve god? Did I piss someone off at the development team to get a horrendous experience like this? I can't say, but I genuinely feel so upset and demotivated about this. It's genuinely frustrating and I can't even stress how demoralizing it is to have a game that's lost at draft, with people who are throwing, with people who are toxic sexist asshats and just having the enemy team steamroll you. No matter what you do, your actions have no impact on the overall things, and unless you play a carry you're too much at the mercy of your team.

Whatever the case is, sorry for the longer message and what not - I'm genuinely beyond frustrated when the main game I play have this atrocious of a matchmaking at this moment. Nobody wants to play a game where they win only 20% (or 39% of the games) they play due to factors outside their own realm. Whoever I pissed off at the development team, I apologize. And I hope I'll be put in better queues so I can at least get my win-rate of 50% back where games aren't so one-sided or horrible. Thanks. 🙏

Change that happened some time ago which caused me to jump from Emissary into Oracle was great, I had great games. They were difficult but seemed balanced.
Now, the past few days or a week I've noticed that I am playing vs cheaters or smurfs who have like 6 games total (but 100% winrate), at least judging by tracklock.

Not sure what was done in past few days or week, but games have yet again been horrible.
