Bad Matchmaking (Specifically since update)

I feel matchmaking since the last update definitely has gotten worse. I don't know if it is miscalculating my skill level but when I have a few games and the other team is 50k souls ahead of us I feel it needs to just be looked into. I know the Devs did try to fix it...but I don't think what they've done is the answer...

Youre not the only one. I have gotten very unbalanced teams. For example: me and my friends are all phantom, but we keep getting archon teammates, while the enemy team doesnt seem to. I started at phantom 2 (after the latest rank redistribution), got all the way up to phantom 5 and then lost my way down to phantom 2. Its not even that the matches were close it simply seems to have unbalanced teams.

The matchmaking is absolutely fucking unbearable. Every single match without fail I am getting people who look like they've never played a moba in their life and I'm Archon 6, I'm not amazing but I am consistently winning lane only to get ganked by a fed enemy because teammate are legitimately braindead 9/10 games. It's absolutely insufferable and genuinely want to stop playing the game beacause of it, just look at this fucking utter goblin

I've got to agree that the matchmaking is in desperate need of improvement. I have a bit over 500 hours of playtime, currently ranked as Archon IV, and the game won't stop matching me with players who have never played the game before. It's very frustrating giving your all, trying to counter-build enemies, and optimizing your farming and lane rotations, just for your efforts to be denied by a new player who has no clue what they should be doing. I assume this is happening because of the recent influx of new players.

Needless to say, the new players are not at fault; Deadlock is a high skill ceiling game. It's unfun for new players to be matched with players that are so much more experienced than them as well. Hidden mechanics and intense learning curves on characters? Sure, that's fun. But I feel that the least that should be done to accommodate new players is make sure they're playing with ranks surrounding theirs rather than matching them with longtime fans.

It's so Strange. I feel my rank celiling is at the very least a high Emissary, or at most Oracle 1. yet somehow, I got Ranked up to Phantom!

I try to avoid to play standard matches now and started to play Brawls. and somehow i got to Phantom 3!

That's not even the worst part too. there's been an increase of Toxic players into the game that throws because one of our teammates was new... The game is on Playtest...

Alright, I'm now on an eight-loss streak and this is what I'm talking about. My team's Mina was 0/15 just 15 minutes into the match, and when I entered their profile just out of curiosity, guess what? It was their very first match.

It's becoming increasingly discouraging to play the game until the matchmaking is addressed. Every match is a new freak show. I can tell even the enemy teams are suffering from this, sometimes struggling to end matches despite having a ginormous advantage or having just two players with a lead while others are barely doing objectives or trying to progress the match.

I'm sorry, but the way it is, it's not fun to play alongside these brand new players, not fun to play against these brand new players, and it must also not be fun to play as a brand new player.

Obviously this is just statlocker so real ranks may vary but celeste/rem lane had 11 deaths by minute 10. and my mid lane also just ends up losing hard

It's supposedly an oracle lobby but the estimate for the rem/celeste ranks are Arcanist and Emissary, which is terribly below what the lobby should be

It's extremely noticable because it's in stark contrast to lobbies like this https://statlocker.gg/match/60907988/summary

Where it's noticably just a skill diff that my team lost, but I can tell everybody in that lobby is good because of the movement they're using, how sharp they are with camp, boxes, vault timings, etc

One day you'll figure out they aren't actual brand new players and you'll understand what's going on in Valve games.

You mean to say they're bots? Why the heck would people bot on Deadlock right now? There's no inventory or drop system yet whatsoever. It only happens in other Valve games because they can make money out of it.

New day same broken matchmaking. Would be nice if the Devs considered balancing the matchmaking before releasing new heroes that are pretty broken with their mechanics.
