My issue was that I would get into game and have high packet miss and loss, and this would look like the game freezing visually but without any affect on audio. This would stay frozen for between 2 and 30+ seconds, but I learned I could esc disconnect and rejoin to fix it. Finally today I learned what the cause was and how to fix it.
My motherboard has an integrated wifi card, but I don't use it since buying a much newer and faster one... well, apparently I never DISABLED the integrated card in my Device Manager. I don't know anything about networks but I do know that as soon as I disabled it in Device Manager the issue stopped.
Maybe this is obvious to others, but this never caused me issues in any other game or program on my PC so I never had a reason to learn this lesson. If you're like me then I hope this saves you lots of headache. If you're a dev then maybe this will somehow help to improve the game down the line?? In any case, I hope this helps someone.
