Magician ult idea

Body Double
Duration 12s Cooldown 100s
Magician takes on the appearance of an ally near him and gains 200 Bullet Shield and/or 200 Spirit Shield (scales with Spirit Power). Magician deals fake Bullet damage in this form. Upon the end of the disguise, returns the fake damage inflicted.
Spectral assistant link is invisible during the ult.
T3 upgrade
Reduces Bullet Resist by 5% of enemiess for each skill they used that damaged Magician during the disguise. Duration 4s

Implies Magician's game plan to be trickery. Lure an enemy away from a damaged ally or scare them with a fed Abrams flashing on the screen.
What is missing here is the ability to hide the teammate you want to double as.

Scraps:
Upon passing a veil put a trap down silently and lose the disguise.
Magician can cast skills of allies except movement-based abilities, but all of them have no effect and no damage.
Magician can disguise as an enemy.

i don't think it's very befitting for an ult
Too weak or too complex? The weakness can be compensated with interaction from other skills; as for the latter, I do see it as not very intuitive.

I think a hero with deceit would be rather strong in a shooter game, and Magician's theme is fit to host it.

The ability is low impact. Most ultimates are scary. You hear a Grey Talon eagle screeching in the sky, you run and hide. You hear Vindicta in the sky, you hide lest she takes your health down low enough to shoot your head off with her ult. Abrams in the sky, you run. Haze bullet dances, you run. Lady Geist strolls up to you with piss poor health, you keep your distance. Bebop's laser; you run. Dynamo or Kelvin ult; you're f*cked. Ultimate abilities either force people to run and hide or completely mess up the enemy's momentum and turn the fight around.
This ability, as cool as it is, is not very frightening. It doesn't guarantee an enemy kill nor does it guarantee a hard escape. The ability needs to do a lot and I don't think the ability does enough to warrant it an ultimate label

an illusion that has one use which is to deceive is really weak, especially if its an ult.

in a moba illusion is used for deceiving but it can also be used to splitpush safely or to increase dps output.

if an enemy catch up that you can't use abilities then you will be more useless

Perhaps it could be similar to Morphling ult from Dota but being able to cast the ult of the target. Half of the damage is halved or faked, all durations are cut to avoid stacking heavy CC or defensive abilities, and stuns probably shouldn't interrupt enemy channels. Alt cast ult to remove disguise.

This way he gains full control of the audio and visual cues of the targeted ally.
