[Hero Concept] Corbin: A Cursed Wendigo

Created a Wendigo hero cause it is cold season today.

And since it is the winter season, might as well make a horror/ tragic hero that is cursed by a Wendigo spirit and is doomed to live with the consequences that he must live with.

Abilities: (If you can't see the small texts)

Frost-Bite: Lunge and bite at the target dealing melee damage, movement slow, and life steal. If the target is low health, heal for the percentage of damage dealt.

Apex Pounce: Crouch and launch a powerful leap into the air, coming down with a force to shatter the ground around the affected area. Upon landing, deal spirit damage and slow movement speed.

Glacial Whisper: Primary fire & spirit damage, building up slow slacks. Upon reaching 5 stacks, target becomes cursed.

One random non-ultimate ability is disabled for 5 seconds.

Enemy hero cannot be cursed again after 10 seconds after the effect wears off.

The Wendigo Unleashed: Unleash the haunting spirit of the forest to become a towering beast of terror.

Once cast after 3 seconds, gain movement speed, melee range and damage, and spirit damage.

Alt. Cast to form giant ice shards to throw dealing AOE, spirit damage, and apply slow movement speed.

Final Thoughts:
I can't really tell if I wanted this hero to have his primary fire to be claws or a hunting rifle.

I know that his ult is quite similar to Winston's ult/ Hulk's Ult, however wanted to change it a bit by using some throwable shards to target at the enemy. Quite similar to the Tank's rock throw in L4D. Want it to make it that this hero is not someone you should mess with in close and in far range.

Also, the pounce ability is similar to the Hunter in L4D. Pinning someone makes it obvious, so I thought of a way to make it a bit more unique a way to make it a "get out" situation when team fights get out of control.

Criticisms and Feedback is appreciated

As most characters have some form of slow I don't really see a problem with it, the only thing I can really say is that in regards to the 3rd ability randomness can feel bad for both sides, I also think giving a character a pseudo curse on a non ult is a little much otherwise it seems like a fun kit

I'm glad you think this hero would be fun.

And I know what you mean for the random ability being out if affected. It's pretty much a 25% chance of which ability is cursed or not.

Why would this character stay on the map? The myth is tied to terrain, both in literal lore & its allegorical applicability
The literal lore tie is actually his main conflict!

Corbin is trying to outrun the very terrain he’s tied to. He stays on the map because he’s searching for a way to sever that spiritual connection.

He doesn't stay in the territories that he once stayed at cause of the carnage he caused to his people.

Also, game needs more mythical monsters

Hm, OK. I’m not convinced but also don’t love Doorman’s ult, so here’s a counter pitch to the LoL’s-Singed one we’re running with now:

Doorman’s ult has been removed (his new one pretty much Valorant’s-Viper’s Viper’s Pit, but dunking Spirit in lieu of the 1hp mechanic). New character Corbin features an ult much like Doorman’s now-former ability Hotel Guest, cursing enemies similarly to attempt escape from a haunted stand of trees (One of which hides the exit on its side opposite the player’s illuminated spawn point. A snowstorm damages them & the trees go on forever)

I don't understand. Would you care to elaborate?

It’s Doorman’s ult but a spooky forest to get lost in. Because a Wendigo is an exile & such a character either brings that or so goes away…

An occasional pulse of particularly soft light ‘tells’ the exit. However, visually loud shearing flakes entering & exiting illumination near the victim character plus their player’s camera being pulled in nearer intend to force a moment of stoic study for that light. A zoom out & fade to black releasing one on the whole effect timing out (Oh I see; not the flakes but this moment carries the damage. Maybe a slow to otherwise justify)

Oh I see.

I understand what you are saying. Was confused on why the Doorman Ult came out of nowhere. I like the idea of a spooky forest from the previous post you made. The sort of pocket dimension that fits in with the lore. I also like the idea of a camera zoom-in as well. makes it a great way to fit the player's 'claustrophobia' of being hunted. (if they have this such fears)

I think I might tweak the Ult transformation so that Corbin is in his beast form. Maybe combining them so that he get his alt. cast to form the ice shards to throw at the enemy and that they're in his domain with the line of sight. It makes it like a somewhat psychological moment in a competitive style. (Although I think Drifter might have the same "Eternal Night") I'll have to think on some changes soon if I have the time.

Thanks for the input!
