Bad Matchmaking Thread

28971074

Tied to play with a 6 stack of friends.

18 min game, 56k vs 134k. We ranged from alchemist to archon. We fought the 42nd best NA Infernus and the 60th best NA Haze

It seemed like bepops first game ever, they spent a lot of their time in base looking at items. Talon almost destroyed the first shrine before mid-bass spawned and they kept pushing base after that because it was basically 4v6 the whole game. About the same with Infernus, except they were playing as if it was a single player FPS. They didn't bother with the Urn or mid, they didn't have to.

I was also killed by mo because they were able to just walk right past the guardians into our base after being fed so much.

Matches are either like this or we loose and im the best in my team ALWAYS. It is hard to rank up when EVERY SINGLE TIME my team is holding me down

Game felt very unequal. This was duos, my friend and I opted for balanced lanes here. The 57 kills vs our 20 was very noticeable.

So, this team just stomped us. The enemy team said they queued as a 6-stack and they even mentioned that it was so unfair to our team. So, how exactly is that fair?

Also, my team gave up and decided to sit in base while I continued to fight (and apparently just get KOd over and over). My teammates complained that the Dynamo was aim-botting as he was "always headshotting". I fought him and did not agree, but that isn't really the point. This was a terrible matchup.

28983177 - I don't understand how Wraith is one of my higher ranked characters and I get grouped with a team with 3 people incapable of any obj damage, (basically 4). I was hoping to get a team that had some idea of how to comeback or play objective, instead the other team was excellent at ganking and teamfighting. I much rather have ranked, or at the least to see what the ranks are of these other playes, because I don't believe they are ritualist 1732502754240.png

Another terrible, awful, no good, very bad matchup. Match ID: 28985099. Either the urn experiment is a very bad idea or taking away ranked was a mistake. I have no idea but there have been very bad matches for me today. 5 in a row.

Just signed up because of the terrible matchmaking after the recent patch. Last two days I made 9 games and won only one of them.
All games were made as solo player with a random group of either only me or max. 1 other player with experience (I've 260 hours currently).
Also got in three games exactly the same unexperienced players in my group in a row.

Totally frustrating that I stopped playing until this is fixed.

Valve for the love of god, PLEASE REVERT THE CHANGES TO MATCHMAKING. I was already failing enough as enough as if, but you somehow made things even worse by combining ranked and casual. What in gods name were you thinking? All you're doing is making things even less fun than usual with these changes. With all the non-stop losses, why even bother playing the game?

As for a bad match, I love having to put up against two of the most annoying characters in the game, the supposedly best character in the game, Dynamo AND a heal maxxing Viscous. This shit was over before it even started [ID: 28998809]

MATCH 29004820

Match ended in 18 minutes, 70K to 121K.

The 20-0 vindicta and her duo partner, who was also extremely suspicious, wiped the entire lobby without breaking a sweat.
Nobody even had a chance because she would automatically ult and headshot you. Either she was cheating with a soft aim hack or matchmaking decided to put us up against one of the best vindicta players in the world.

Our team decided to sit in base and just let them win because of how miserable it was.

2 weeks ago I played four ranked calibration matches, which (at least according to deadlock tracker) were Oracle 3 (win), Phantom 3 (win), Phantom 4 (loss), Oracle 6 (loss). This aligned well with the rank of my matches pretty much since I started playing like 3 months ago, over my 200+ matches. However, I didn't play enough to calibrate. Now, since the most recent matchmaking patch, I figured I'd play a few and get placed and was placed at Emissary 6. Since then I've gone 10-2 with the following KDA's.

28776964 : 14/1/7
28841094 : 16/5/29
28849161 : 13/0/16
28883365 : 13/3/11
28886558 : 7/4/13
28986384 : 11/3/11
28989502 : 10/0/13
28991970 : 9/1/11
28994320 : 14/1/14
28996654 : 10/0/13
28999147 : 12/0/13
29001547 : 5/5/13

My best guess at what happened is that roughly a week before the update I played only a few matches and with some lower rank friends (one somewhere in arcanist, the other in archon) and lost a few. If my rank is based on the previous week only I suppose I could see how this happened. For some more context, according to deadlock tracker I'm 1722 ELO, top 1% of players, and top 2% lash, my match history is almost exclusively oracle and phantom except for when playing with lower rank friends. Regardless, I'm stomping pretty much every game now and people in my matches are complaining about balancing because of it. I was hoping that I'd climb fast or get caught by some sort of smurf detection but it took 8 consecutive wins to rank up once to Archon 1 and I’m still like 11 ranks away from what I normally play at. Frankly I feel like I’m just ruining people’s games and also feel robbed of the previous 200 games I’ve played.1732536990176.png1732537028512.png1732537095351.png
