I'm sure most people won't like this kind of "movement explot" most of the game...
(This clip is from rank#1 Abrams' play footage)

I disagree with this. I think most of the heroes have abilities that synergize well with each otherAlso for many heroes their abilities don't really interact with each other or revolve around a core idea tightly enough, making them less unique and feel less smooth.
I think that kits often synergize, but they sometimes dont FLOW.I disagree with this. I think most of the heroes have abilities that synergize well with each other
I don't think Valve is infallible, I think Valve focus on different fundamentals to Riot and therefore make fundamentally different games. There's a reason nobody finds the gunplay of Valorant interesting but CS2, which is basically HLDM, is popular as ever.
I feel like a lot of your issues are stemmed from the fact that it's a third person shooter rather than a top down mobaI think that kits often synergize, but they sometimes dont FLOW.
eg. When I talk about mobility heroes, people often bring up Lash, and his grapple does feel great, but the way the movement and camera are locked when he does ground pound just doesn't feel smooth to me. I know they tweaked the camera recently, but even still.
I also don't like so many enemy-targetted abilities. They're finnicky, they slow the game down, and I'd rather just use my own aim. I understand why they exist... I just don't like them.
Not at all, I'm mainly comparing the hero gamefeel to Overwatch... Maybe that's unfair.I feel like a lot of your issues are stemmed from the fact that it's a third person shooter rather than a top down moba
It would be useful to name some examples for Valve. When I think "super mobile high skill ceiling assassin" in a shooter, I think of a top-class skulk or fade player from natural selection.Agreed honestly. While Yamato and Lash are super cool and mobile assassins, I think it would be cool if there was a super hard to play glass cannon hero who was all living and breathing mobility. Noobs would get stomped because they overcommit and don't have any escape tools left, but experienced players would nick you a thousand times then go in for the kill. Thats my fantasy at least, I want to see Valve pushing the limits of mobility in this game
so you took it personally...You're the one who started fanboying for riot. Don't get surprised when people start flinging right back at you.
I said literally nothing about riot games inc or valve corporation in any of my posts previously to what you've quoted. I only brought them up in that post to explain why other users in the thread were clowning on him.so you took it personally...
gigabased sigma chad right here.Deadlock works on Linux, LoL does not any more thx to rootkit malware from Riot.
This means that making comparisons between these two products is completely moot.
There are so many examples. We all know Tracer, Genji, Sombra from Overwatch [even post-rework Pharah].It would be useful to name some examples for Valve. When I think "super mobile high skill ceiling assassin" in a shooter, I think of a top-class skulk or fade player from natural selection.
I've already provided over 10 examples of specific heroes from other games that I love, and I saidWhat exactly is your idea for a new hero? Teleporter? Be clear with your communication since nobody can read your mind.
Here's one of my concepts demonstrating this type of kit:Give me complicated heroes with tonnes of dashes and blinks, give me a high-APM hero who can out-mechanic any situation even when a bit behind, give me a limitless skill ceiling!
This guy just wants modern day dash trash that sends you flying across the screen at the click of a button because some other game has it. He's never gonna ask for solly or demo to get ported from tf2, those designs actually take effort and have trade offs to using their mobility. There's a huge difference to how the designers of ye olde times implemented mobility to how modern hacks larping as designers do it now, and I'm glad that Icefrog is looking to implement the former instead of the latter. What exactly is your idea for a new hero? Boomer nostalgia horseshit. Tf2 was inspired by classic arena shooters like Quake which have just as much mobility as any modern "dash trash". And then you have early 2000s games like Gunz which put any modern twitch shooter to shame. There's a huge difference to how the designers of ye olde times implemented mobility to how modern hacks larping as designers do it now, and I'm glad that Icefrog is looking to implement the former instead of the latter.
No I'm not going to ask for that because i'm not a boomer reminiscing but the good old days, and I have no idea wtf you're talking about. He's never gonna ask for solly or demo to get ported from tf2, those designs actually take effort and have trade offs to using their mobility.
