Ability specific items. 4 for each hero. Only visible to them.

I think there should be 4 items for each character that are only visible for them. These items would each be for a specific ability of theirs. Using Abram's and Bebop's abilities as examples you could have items like

Abrams

Siphoning Aura

costs 500
Spirit
Ability range +8%
Makes Siphon Life have 360 degrees of range.

Nimble Giant
Costs 1250
Vitality
Bonus Health +100
Allows you to jump and use stamina when charging to double jump. Turn rate slightly increased.

Infernal Aggression
Costs 1250
Weapon
Firerate +5%
Weapon damage +10%
Weapon
When you deal weapon damage you heal 1% of the 16% of incoming damage healed by Infernal Resilience instantly.

Crater
Costs 3000
Spirit
10% bullet resist
10% spirit resist
Enemies hit by seismic impact are pulled to be directly in front of you. Spirit scaling on Seismic Impact +0.5

Bebop

Concussion Club

Costs 500
Vitality
+75 bonus health
+40 area damage.
Enemies hit by Exploding uppercut have 15% slower movement speed for 5 seconds.

Internal Upgrades
Costs 1250
Spirit
+10 spirit
Sticky Bomb now scales +0.5% for enemy heroes hurt and +1% for enemy heroes killed within 12 seconds of taking bomb damage.

Crane Attachment
Costs 1250
Weapon
+25% weapon damage to enemies over 50% hp.
Hook projectile size +50% for grabbing enemy heroes.

Mounted Laser
Costs 3000
Spirit
+10% ability duration
+10% spirit lifesteal
Increased movespeed when using Hyper beam in the air. Even greater increased movespeed and slight turnspeed increase when using Hyper Beam on the ground.

I myself have made a suggestion for a similar item that has different effects directly affecting a given heroes ability, but I like this implementation more, even if it would require a pretty epic amount of work balancing and tweaking.

I do think that Deadlock would benefit greatly from an item that modifies individual abilities. This is an interesting idea.

Yea I remember one that is an imbue that gives unique properties to whatever ability it is imbued on. I feel like that's rougher to remember all the effects and harder to balance.

Who would you like to see get items the most?
This seems like a feature that, when implemented, it should affect all heores at once, so like all heroes should get at least one item.

If I had to pick one, I'd love that siphon aura item for Ambrams lol, but maybe too op for 500, though numbers don't really matter when in concept.

I made a simmilar suggestion(guess we all want aghanims in dota to make hero kits more unigue :) ). It is always fun to see what ideas people have for the extra effects. Sadly i don`t this will be implemented any time soon, just look at how long we had to wait to get aghs for all characters in dota, but the future looks bright with these posibilities.

One addition to this that i could make is making the items have their own category in shop and inventory with only 1 or 2 slots(the items are blue coloured and cant be used in flex slots). The category could be called something like Enhancments. This will make heroes feel more unigue and allow A LOT of build variety. But will take a magnificent amount of work to make. Honestly i like this implementation more than using the Imbue system

In game menu(decided that the catagory needs a shorter name):

Items:

My idea for Mo&Krill 3 skill:
Blinding-Dust-1737811168.png
It could be like a temporary fog of war type of stuff, maybe make everything after 10m pitch gray instead of black for better player experience.

Also to not waste time on making new item icons, they could just reuse the ability icons(atleast as placeholders)
So what do you guys think about it?
As i said already, big thanks to Tryneus for making the item editor, more people should def use it.

I think these kinds of "Ability specialization" items shouldn't give stats so that the impact on the ability itself can be greater. I don't have a problem with them having their own Slot either, but we're getting to a LOT of slots if we add even 2 more.

More slots, MORE FUNN!!! And i kinda agree on not giving stats part, they should be just flat effects.

If these were to have their own type (which I do not think is the best idea) saying they can only be put in flex slots would make more sense.

I would rather they just stay weapon, vitality, or spirit items though.
Dota had a problem with aghs in that it competed with normal items, and didn`t give much stats, especially in the late game, so carry type characters usually prefered the normal items, uless their aghs was OP. That is why when the made aghanims shard they made it so it doesn`t take up a slot, and added a way to "Eat" the normal aghs. I think that making them give no stats(or little stats to specific abilities) is great.
One thing that could be done is making the second "Boost" slot be unlockable like flex slots, maybe make it unlock after your team beats the mid boss for the first time? although that seems a bit too snowbally. You could always add another objective, lIke a pylon located in the middle of the stairs on the base(between the windows) that unlocks the second boost slot.
Also them only going in flex slots will make them compete with other items even more and it will be horrible, if they are weaker than normal items, no one is going to buy them. If they are stronger than normal items, that character won`t be bying normal items.

I don't know if these should be meta. The main point is that these would be a lot of fun, but with base stats we can make it so that they see occasional, be it rare, even in meta play.

I think the best way to unlock the second "Boost" slot would be to personally capture the Urn. This way it becomes even more highly contested, and it encourages more than just the same person to run it every time.

At the same time, only so many second "boost" slots will ever even come out in a game.

That said; here are some ideas for Mcginnis Boost items.

Weapon T2:
Your gun no longer winds down while you are channeling Missile Barrage or while your Spectral wall is active.

Spirit T1:
You can now self cast your turret to mount it onto your backpack. Only 1 Turret can be mounted this way at a time.

Vitality T3:
While your Medicinal Specter is active and an ally is being healed by it, if they suffer a killing blow, it is prevented, they are instantly healed for 20% of their maximum health, and Medicinal Specter ends immediately and goes on Cooldown for 60 seconds (this is affected by Cooldown stats, but not by the 2 point cooldown reduction ability)

Weapon T3:
Any Bonus fire rate you have also applies half of it's bonus to your reload speed.

I reaaly like this slot unlock concept, it will encourage teams to chose a hero who delivers the urn based on whose upgrades will be the best for the game, and as you said, limits the ammont of boost slots. The only problem i see is people flaming and then going feeding after their teammate steals the urn from them XD.
I like your ideas for McGinis items, especially the medical spectre and mounted turret, here are some ideas i had:

Light Barage - T2 item (weapon or boost, depending on what you want)
Every 15(not sure how much here) shots release a volley(3-6 not sure how much) of Heavy Barrage rockets, that home to where you are shooting.
The rockets also gain Heavy Barrage T1 upgrade slow and T3 upgrade damage

Security Wall - T3 item (again spirit or boost)
Your Spectral Wall now has 3 mounted Mini Turrets, that can only shoot inside. These turrets are invincible and go down with spectral wall.
The shooting inside means to the direction from where the wall was placed, not sure how to word it better. The turrets are placed on these segments:

Turrets.jpg
Mega Turret - T2 spirit (or boost)
Every 45s, your next Mini Turret placed will be a big Mega Turret. Megga Turrets have 3x Hp, and have an additional rocket attack(like TF2).

I really wish for something like this to be added to the game, it will make each hero and match feel even more unique, like facets added to Dota recently, but on steroids. Though it will take a tremendous amount of work to add and balance these items for each hero. I don`t think we will see anything close to this until after the full release of the game:(

Don't give up hope. Honestly, this kind of item gets requested at least 2-4 times a month. It's obviously a popular concept, and one people want to see in game. I expect we'll see something like this before full release.

IMO the way to do items like this would be kinda "monkey's-paw" designs that alter the way something is used, more sidegrade than upgrade.
Could also be a neat way for the devs to slide in a concept that they aren't sure about without a full hero rework.

-Make bebops Ult have lower damage and no AOE but he can fly around quite fast
-Mcginnis barrage becomes a charged ability firing single rockets (or it gets a wind-up channel and fires all of them at once but slower and marks the landing zone)
-Holidays Crackshot becomes Kneecap, less damage but a good movement slow that removes some dashes OR becomes "Fanning" can empty their whole magazine in a single burst with massively decreased accuracy
-Ivy's Ult loses its bomb and ability to carry people BUT you can now shoot.
-Shiv's dash loses its damage and now just applies the same bleed as his knives

could even make weapon ones that alter a characters gun.

-McGuinnessy loses the windup, but also loses accuracy and movement speed
-Bebop's gun works like the plasma pistol from halo, charge up for a bolt of burst damage
-Abrams pistol gets actual bullets instead of shells
-Vindicta's gun becomes a slow-firing high-damage rifle more like Talon
-Heroes with an alt-fire could just get a version of that with less downsides as their main - Shiv's loses its knockback, Viscous loses some of its damage but also loses its delay
-Infernus is now miming holding a long gun and has a shotgun or something
-Haze can fire their two guns independently at half the rate with independently handled magazines using L&R mouse for L&R gun respectively

A secret shop that wasn't marked on the map and moved around would be neat, would kinda fit the theming - could have some neat lore voicelines where Mo & Krill/Ivy know the guy or Abrams has beef with him.
