There are no canonically LGBT characters - the only one if anything is Pocket. Celeste refers to Pocket as a "he". Now yes, the Dev Kaori says it was "just a mistake" for her to refer to Pocket as he, however Kaori states there is "no intention behind it". Why are we trying to read much more meaning when it doesn't change anything in the grand scheme of things? Again, the most likely explaination for Pocket being referred to as they/them is because it is from the hiding of being left out to die and being mysterious, with the few knowing about them. It could be also there are multiple frogs in the suitcase. The bio points to being a societal refugee of sorts. Why would there be aspects of being non-binary and transgender? Why would one automatically conclude that it is a trans or non-binary allegory? It doesn't make sense.Yeah I don't know what they were thinking with this. Valve is clearly interested in getting queer people into deadlock since they made pocket nonbinary and a whole bunch of the other characters are queer coded but now every time I play the game I have to hear a preist screaming about "purging sinners" and ranting about sodom at me.
I've mourned friends because they were branded as abominations and serially abused by people screaming this stuff constantly, I dont want to hear it directed at me in a video game.
```Taking on the name "Pocket", Arin desperately wants to keep their true identity a secret… not only for their own protection; but because they want to forge their own identity separate from their parents.```
>Not only for protection (Calico tried killing Pocket)
>Forge identity SEPERATE FROM THEIR PARENTS.
Meaning, Pocket does not want to be associated with their parents, out of disgust and disapproval. "She makes my parents look stable." "You're complicit, McGinnis" "Keep this case from my father". Again, it means do not read too much into it - it is literally a case of fleeing harm and wanting to move on from their family.
