Hero - Dante the Mad Wizard

I've been hoping for a wizard/sorcerer character in this game for a while, so I'm suggesting it here in hopes that something like this can be added in the future. The idea behind Dante is that he's a midrange jack of all trades spellcaster, he's extremely versatile but he's not the best at any one thing. He also has 3 options per ability but a lengthy cooldown on each, so you have many tools available but you have to choose wisely which one will best suit the situation.

Hero name: Dante
Ability 1: Evocation (1 charge 10 second charge 40 second cooldown)
- Search and equip your grimoire for evocation spells, calling on the elements to destroy your foes.
- Fireball: Launch a ball of fire that explodes on contact, dealing spirit damage and inflicting a burning effect that deals low damage over time for a few seconds.
- Thunderbolt: Fire a beam of lightning that arcs to the nearest 3 foes from your target and deals decent spirit damage over time.
- Blizzard: Summon a blizzard that slows enemies significantly and reduces their dash distance. While inside the blizzard, they take low spirit damage over time
- Upgrade 1: +1 charge
- Upgrade 2: Cooldown -15 seconds
- Upgrade 3: Fireball now fires 2 mini fireballs that seek enemies, but only deal 25% of the damage. Thunderbolt now builds up to a 2s stun over 3 seconds. Blizzard now reduces the damage output of any enemies caught inside by -30%.

Ability 2: Conjuration (40 second cooldown)
- Search and equip your grimoire for convocation spells, calling on the earth and sky to change the tide of battle.
- Starfall: Conjure a nebula orb that fires 3 stars that aggressively home in on enemies, dealing low damage.
- Stonewall: Conjure stones to float around you and guard you, granting a personal barrier for 4 seconds
- Grasping Brambles: Conjure a thorny plant that grasps at enemies within its radius, preventing them from leaving the small radius for a few seconds.
- Upgrade 1: Starfall stars now reduce the Bullet and Spirit resistance for enemies hit by -12%. Stonewall duration increased by +6 seconds. Grasping Brambles now deals scaling spirit damage on grab.
- Upgrade 2: Cooldown -20 seconds
- Upgrade 3: Starfall nebula now fires 3 volleys of stars. Stonewall barrier amount increased. Grasping Brambles now silences grabbed enemies for the duration.

Ability 3: Abjuration (30 second cooldown)
- Search and equip your grimoire for abjuration spells, calling on the arcane to heal your wounds and protect your team.
- Blink: Throw your book, getting pulled to it after a moment. Grants +4 m/s move speed for 10 seconds after dashing.
- Cure Wounds: Fire a beam granting health regen at the nearest lowest health ally. Also affects you.
- Mystic Ward: Slam your staff into the ground, sending out a shockwave that grants damage reduction to all allies within the radius for 15 seconds.
- Upgrade 1: Blink range increased. Cure Wounds regen lasts +3 seconds longer. Mystic Ward damage reduction increased.
- Upgrade 2: Cooldown -15 seconds
- Upgrade 3: Blink can be recast within 10 seconds. Cure Wounds now fires two additional beams. Mystic Ward now grants a +15% damage boost.

Ability 4:
Forbidden Arts (180 second cooldown)
- Search and equip your grimoire for forbidden spells, calling on otherworldly powers to aid you.
- Cataclysm: Reach out to the cosmos to pull down a meteor, which slams down onto the area for extreme True damage after a 10 second cast time.
- Summon Spirits: Reach out to beyond the pale and bring forth two spirits from beyond the pale, who path to the nearest lane and begin attacking it. Lasts for 40 seconds or until killed.
- Blood Ritual: Reach out to the insidious and begin draining 3% of your max HP every second while healing others around you for 8% of their max HP. You cannot be healed while this ability is active.
- Upgrade 1: Cataclysm cast time -2 seconds. Summon Spirits +20 second duration. Blood Ritual now grants all allies +4m/s move speed and +25% damage.
- Upgrade 2: Cooldown -30 seconds
- Upgrade 3: Cataclysm fires low damage mini meteors at the aimed location while casting. Summon Spirits have +50% health and +20% damage. Blood Ritual self-damage reduced by -1% and healing is increased by +4%.

For the control scheme of having 3 spells per ability, one suggestion would be tap 1/2/3/4 to equip and press 1/2/3 to cast the desired spell.

Dante's lore would be that he was an esteemed scholar that was expelled from his institution after he was caught dabbling with forbidden magic during the first maelstrom, and he has been biding his time until the second maelstrom so he can use the patrons and show the world that he is the greatest mage in history.

I can't draw and I couldn't find an image I liked, but his description would be a tall, pale, tired-looking young man with long silver hair dressed in dark robes and carrying a heavy book with magic sigils on it. He'd look a bit out of place because nobody wears the robes anymore and he's been keeping himself alive using magic, hence the old hair but the young face.

I'm open to any comments or criticisms on this, I mostly just made this out of a desire to have a wizard/mage in the game as we don't quite have that yet.
