This is just a concept that i had on my mind of a wizard- soldier hybrid. basically pushing the concept of a hybrid character, in lore, gameplay, and overall design.
lore: merlin the 3rd is the youngest member (120) of a secret society of wizards that refuse to reveal themselves to the world, stating various reasons, like how "their magic could fall in the wrong hands", or that "the world isn't ready".
merlin always had suspicions that those reasons were just excuses' and when the maelstrom happened he knew they were.
So he started exploring the modern world and was amazed. Soon he became obsessed with the combination of modern technology and magic, and researches it extensively. All this time he tries to convince the society to come out of hiding, and warns them that the modern world is progressing without them, but they disregard him. Merlin becomes more and frustrated with their "cowardliness" the more time passes. At last, he decides to participate in the ritual to reveal the society and their magic to the world, whether his colleagues want to or not.

combination of wizard robes and soldier uniform and uses the British sten submachine gun infused with his wand.

gameplay:
His gameplay also tries to be hybrid in multiple ways, combining the typical soldier "run and gun" archetype with the wizard "use spells until they are dead" archetype.
Ability 1- fireball grenade
Throw a fireball with a grenade in it, until detonation it works similarly to seven ball, burning enemies in its path, dealing spirit damage. Then it explodes, dealing burst weapon damage. you can press the ability button again to detonate it early.
ideas for upgrades:
t1-bigger fireball radius.
t2- improved gun scaling for the explosion component.
t3- enables charges and +1 charge.
Ability 2- magic missile rpg
Shoot a magic missile from an rpg that also reduces bullet resist.
Can be used to rocket jump.
Ideas for upgrades:
t1-more damage
t2- cooldown reduction
t3- increases the bullet resist reduction and also reduces spirit resist
Ability 3- passive
Right click shoots magic bolts out of the wand part of your weapon.
The projectiles are relatively big and slow(about 1 bolt for every 5 bullets), you can shoot both left click and right click at the same time. The bolts are managed by an "heat" mechanic, similar to Orisa gun from OW or energy weapons from Roboquest for those who know.
Ideas for upgrades:
t1- more bolt damage.
t2- increase bullet velocity for the bolts.
t3- your bolts now split to 3 after traveling a short distance.
Ability 4\Ultimate- Meteor aerial strike.
Target a zone, an indicator will appear and after a few seconds a meteor will come down dealing massive spirit damage.
Ideas for upgrades:
t1- reduce time to strike by ~1s
t2- reduce cooldown by ~25s and amplify damage by 25% against hit enemies for ~6s
t3- stun enemies for ~1s and increase radius.
This concept is entirely for fun and i don't expect at all for it to end up in the game.
