The account associated with my email invite is not mine

Hello,

I was recently invited to play Deadlock, via the email signed up to my steam account. Unfortunately, the invite code is linked to a completely separate account that I've never seen. Has this issue happened to anyone else? Sorry if this is the wrong way to go about this
