Hello,
I am a dedicated Deadlock player from South Korea. I am writing to propose a visual localization of the Hero Title Typography for the Korean version of the game.
From the moment I first played Deadlock, I was completely captivated by its unique art direction—the blend of the occult and 20th-century New York aesthetics. It was the most immersive and impactful experience I’ve had among all Valve games.
In particular, the distinct typography designed for each Hero felt like an evolution of character expression, much like the Team Fortress 2 "Meet the Team" series. I realized that if these unique title logos were properly localized, it would significantly enhance the immersion for Korean players. Above all, as a fan who has fallen in love with this game, I simply wanted the Korean version to look as stunning as the original.

- Copyright Compliance & Originality: To avoid any legal issues with existing font licenses (and to challenge my own typography skills), I did not modify commercial fonts. Instead, I constructed each letter from basic geometric shapes, analyzing and reinterpreting the strokes and characteristics of the original English titles.
- Zero Generative AI: I did not use any generative AI tools. Beyond ethical or technical reasons, I felt that using AI would rob me of the most enjoyable part of the creative process. Every curve and line was hand-drawn.
- Balancing Readability and Character: While I spent a lot of time ensuring the Hangul (Korean alphabet) remains readable, my primary goal was to translate the specific personality and "vibe" of each Hero from the original design into the Korean text.
- Community Feedback: From the initial drafts, I actively shared my progress with the Korean Deadlock community, incorporating their feedback and refining the designs through multiple iterations.
