SHITHOUSE

Putting manhole covers on the ground as a displacement trap is actually inspired design. Even if the rest of the character is just meme material, that should be in the game in SOME form.

I think the rest of the character is legit, being goofy doesn't mean it can't work.
If you think SHITHOUSE as an actual character could be in Deadlock as is with no changes to his character/design, I'm very glad you're not on the development team.

Him having some good ideas and an admittedly very funny forum post doesn't mean he'd fit in at all with Deadlock's world/setting/gameplay structure.

A character that is jokey, type of guy who could be a construction/sewage worker, screaming like he's the thing or a mobster, but deep inside he is a sweet and caring man, who's patron wish is polar opposite to his funny scthick, that deep inside he longs for something more? Not just to be some sort of laughing stock lolcow hero? Sort of like a Shrek - but a memed on hero instead?

Perhaps his dislike with all things aerial could be these bird supernatural creatures, or these like aerial thiefs or terrorists causing problems. So he deals with them 1960s batman style. Sadly, it does not inspire heroism, but instead mockery. He truly is doing something Ivy-like for what? To be seen as a creature? A silly creature who is not respected for his deed? Imagine if when Ivy does her heroic deeds, they just point and laugh at the fact she's a Gargoyle and weird and ugly looking. His tone in the game could be a mix of heroism (Abrams/Pocket/Viscous/Ivy), bitterness (Vindicta, Billy) and longing of purpose, image and fitting in (Victor, Vyper, Mina).

So he develops aspects of his personality that splits depending who he talks to. With Abrams and Paige, he could be more cynical. Since he could frequently drink at Infernus' bar, he could be more tender in emotions. He would be more heroic and jokey to Rem, Viscous, Venator, Holliday. He could have voice lines where he snaps to become one of the ultier motives - which would make one act suspicious - which cuts the pain deeper. A conflicted man - because no one truly gets him. But the Patrons do. And they urge him to do the ritual, and what is right and true for him will manifest before his very eyes. And so, he fights.

Either way, a construction/sewage worker will STILL work. Like a serious janitor of sorts.

Why the hell would that not be something Valve could work on? They put Glados on a potato. And it >worked<.

I sure hope that comment was made in good spirit, because, considering you lacked to explain how the character could not be adapted to fit a Valve character...

So you're inventing 90% of this out of nothing and then assuming that's the original vision of the post....great job for winning against a strawman buddy.

Shithouse isn't getting into the game as much as you may want him.

You're unusually rude over a fictional character - nor are you addressing any of our points. Where is the constructive criticism? Are you jealous of the sense of comedy? Or is your life that bitter?

Strawman? What Strawman? You didn't produce >anything< of substance.

I'm sorta liking this idea and all, but... Just one small thing I gotta know:

How's he gonna hit the souls with his Rocket Launcher during the laning phase?
The rocket would have splash, as well as a bigger projectile and perhaps slower projectile speed. Direct hits would be the way. That could make for interesting skill expression.

Bro, you're too funny. The OP is funny intentionally, but you're just a joke.
