Reworked Clay from the ground up, after numerous attempts. This means that the OG post I made back in November 2025 is now obsolete. Largely new kit, new art and new lore.

COMMANDO - HEAVY ARSENAL - EXPLOSIVE

Lore:

Captain James Jackson Clay was stationed at a Military Base up north, a fair few kilometers from New York, at the time during the Maelstrom, when a portal suddenly appeared right in the middle of the base. Clay and a platoon of soldiers under his command were sucked in through the portal, and they found themselves in a strange world, where they were then captured and imprisoned by it's inhabitants, where they were taken to what looked like a prison facility, and locked in it's dark dungeons.

For weeks, they were subjected to horrific tortures, the screams of the captured soldiers echoing through the halls as they were brutally experimented on. Clay himself was no exception, for he was forced to endure the excruciating pain of what they were doing to him, the process which left both his arms and his left eye scarred. All of his men eventually succumbed to their injuries inflicted upon them, until only he remained.

Eventually, Clay managed to gather enough strength and willpower to escape from the prison, killing many of his captors along the way, and finally managing to find a portal that lead back to Earth, however he has been forever changed by the ordeal.

The spirit that he had freed from it's confinement while escaping had, perhaps in gratitude, granted him powers that allowed him to create constructs of any weapon he desires, and also slowed his aging drastically. With this newfound power, he slaughtered his way through lines upon lines of those who tormented him and his men, until only a clear path to home remained.

It has been decades since his escape, he has not aged much thanks to the benevolent spirit he had freed, but the memories of what happened continue to haunt him to this day; he could still hear the screams of his men in his dreams while the scars he had gotten would sometimes cause great pain.

Despite this, Clay continues to soldier on, fighting for his country with distinction.

Playstyle:
Clay's diverse abilities allow him to play either as a burst mage or a gunner. Using a variety of different weapons in form of spectral constructs he can create at will, he will bring a war which his enemies know they cannot win.

Final notes:

Design wise, I was leaning heavily towards John Matrix from 1985 action film "Commando" and John Rambo from the Rambo franchise, two big, muscular action heroes mowing down bad guys and all that.

With that, when I was making this, I decided that 'you know what, to Hell with realism or historical accuracy! We're going in full anachronism with this one', so all the constructs of guns used for this are all based on real life weapons from different time periods(majority of them being long past the 1950's period).

So, these are the following weapons chosen for this kit:

For the 1st Ability, I figured it'd be a MK2 Hand Grenade.
MkII_07.JPG

Here's the three guns used for this kit:

For a Sniper Rifle, I chose the M40A1 Sniper Rifle.

For the Combat Shotgun, the SPAS-12 Combat Shotgun.

And finally, for the Heavy Machine Gun, I chose the ever-classic M60 Machine Gun.

Now, for the Ultimate, the Rocket Launcher itself, I was considering one of two options:

Either this, the M202 Flash

latest

Or

The 2nd one, the most likely choice, the Armbrust Rocket Launcher
450

Oh, and there's a Knife for all the melee attacks as well. It highly resembles the one used by Rambo himself.

And here you go, Hope y'all are liking this!

I sincerely hope this gets added to the game!

This took me quite a while to make. The original one I did turned out to be such a mess(I mean, it was my first post on this forum ever), that I decided to do a rework of this Hero.

Most of the kit had been reworked, though some elements still remained from the previous versions.

1st skill is largely the same as before, but I took out the slow mechanic, because it wasn't necessary(at least to me).

2nd skill is one of the newer things in here. Now, I'm not entirely sure how the conversion rate works here, but I'd like to assume that every instance of damage during the leap is 1% converted into Fire Rate and Reload Speed(I'm no tech savvy, so I could be wrong here).

3rd skill is, like earlier, a single bundle of different weapons to use: Sniper Rifle for long range, Combat Shotty for close range and HMG for general medium range shenanigans. For some reason, I had thoughts on adding more guns in this, but I didn't think it would even work; I also think it would've been completely broken, balance wise, if there were anymore than 3 guns packed in this one ability.

4th skill, the rocket launcher itself, normally it functions like the RL from Quake 3 Arena(with splash damage and full damage on direct hit with rockets), but it's Alt cast mode is very much like the Lock-On Burst mod from Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal. The reason I typed in 'One use per cast' is because, well, if it were usable for more than one time, it wouldn't be very fun to play against, when you take into consideration the fact that you'd have to run and take cover from a bunch of rockets homing in on you. So having it usable once per cast sounded reasonable, at least in my mind.

I watched a bunch of old action movies long before making this, so I figured I'd go with that kind of a vibe with this. Clay may be traumatized, but he can still fight for his country!
