Ranked Matching making should be back

ppl shouldnt have to move wholeass games to play casual buddy
Yeah I think maybe there is a language barrier or something -doesn't seem to understand having that opinion himself makes 0 impact on the issue of most people not having that opinion and therefore just queueing to play the game in the only mode available lol. It's nice to have the window to play ranked be gone (because that was annoying in itself) but this is definitely worse. I have a feeling logic will prevail on this one though, I don't see how they don't revert in the next patch - it's pretty obviously hurting the player base which if I understand the reasoning they did it to begin with was to get more data (which in this case it's more data but much worse quality data) - don't think you can make many epiphanies on the game balance and meta when half the lobby is playing a different game.

Yeah the guy saying he knows how MMR was calculated off skill is completely making things up - not sure if it was to derail the thread or not but it worked. The point in the thread is that the game quality is worse now because they are combining people who want to play competitively with people who want to learn the game and chill. To say "no one should want to learn the game and chill" is fine to have ur own opinion of - but that doesn't change the fact that there's a massive population of these people (which will include every new player joining) and to have it just be RNG on them getting tossed into sweaty comp games or full no comms no strat games just doesn't make sense. At least have a separate queue for people who haven't played 50 games or something. In general there just needs to be an option for people who don't want to sweat game otherwise it's going to continue to be somewhat toxic (for both the sweaters and the newbs).
you see they have "queues" like this behind the scene (or at least can have), when they see that you are a new player they put you with other new player, when they see that you're playing at Eternus5 level a few games in a row they put you in a sweaty E5 games and so on. If you like to play in a chill way, they once again can figure it out and put you in more chill lobbies. My point is that it's not necessary to split queues to better match people. The only counterargument to this is that there are people who sometimes want to play sweaty E5 and sometimes want to completely chill on the same agent the next game, this is quite rare I think.

"Can have" is a lot different than do have. Obviously good matchmaking algorithms exist in games? This game just certainly does not have one yet, which isn't that surprising being a game in alpha. People aren't making these posts because of what great MM systems games can have, it's because of the one it has right now lmao. It for sure (at least @ mid tier rank where the bulk of the players are) is not splitting the player base properly - which also makes sense considering it's targeting an average MMR for 12 people with a very limited amount of available data. All they have to do is re-split the queues and open the ranked queue full time vs. setting it 8 hours per day and they'll have the "more data" they are looking for and it won't be riddled with confounding nonsense 70% of games have a leaver etc.

What are you talking about??

EVERY SINGLE GAME IS RANKED NOW.

You probably mean they should bring back skill-based MMR? When you could lose 10 games in a row and still maintain your rank?

Well, I think a simple MMR that counts wins/losses is fairer than the individual MMR we had before.
I feel like based on your posts you're trolling, but I'll bite. The separation of quick play and competitive is what I am referring to. People do not queue up with the same mindset in QP vs comp. Every single game in the world has them separate for this very reason.

They need to rollback the matchmaking update ASAP. It is literally the worse I've played in my over 200+ hours.

6 straight losses over two days. I'm almost at my breaking point. I understand that this is testing, but whats the fun in testing when every match is completely lopsided. Just testing how much bullshit we can suffer through? Solo queue ranked was the only way I could enjoy this game since I didn't have to be constantly matched against groups and full stacks.

I don't know how but for some reason, I've actually liked the new matchmaking, games are pretty well balanced, apart from an occasional 3-stack who absolutely dump on everyone.

This thread is not relevant to the Bug Reports section, and as such I'll be locking this post. If anyone has any feedback for Deadlock, please post them to the Feedback sections. If they appear private, that's because only Valve can see the submissions in these sections. You can still post to these sections and see your own submissions, but you will not be able to see other user submissions. The reason for this is because Valve wants your feedback to be as unfiltered as possible, and being able to read other people's feedback and respond to it ends up clouding your feedback and anyone else's feedback that may read it. They would rather you say something generally disagreed upon if they are your legitimate thoughts.
