Pre-5 min match will count but can be left

I went to queue up and the game said it "couldn't reach Deadlock servers" or something along those lines so I closed and reopened DL and rejoined a match. Then for some reason the match still counted but could be left?? *I also got a penalty for leaving even though I never technically left a match*
