Penalty for Leaving Sandbox

I was messing around in the sandbox today and it wouldn't let me leave without taking a penalty. I wasn't queued for or in a match. Tried changing heroes and no success. Screenshot attached. Hope it didn't actually apply a penalty :/

Same issue for me with different variables.
I was waiting for a match, then the server went offline or I lost connection to the server, not too sure. I was mucking around with Holliday in sandbox, I wonder if it had something to do with using a labs hero?
It's happened a few times now so I have a stack of low-priority penalties.
I have no screenshots. Will provide in the future.

Workaround: Don't abandon, but rather exit the game. When you relaunch you'll be able to join the real game

This just happened to me. I was queued for Ranked and opened Hero Sandbox. I heard the "Click" sound you get when you connect to a lobby at the same time that Hero Sandbox loaded. Thought it was a bit weird, but messed around in the Sandbox for a while, noticed the match search banner was not showing, clicked "Leave Sandbox" and got the abandon warning. Clicked abandon match and got penalized.

Justy happened to me as well. Was in sandbox messing around while waiting to find a match and leaving sandbox left queue and banned me for 5 minutes :/
