Magic Carpet Stops Working When Lil Helpers Attack Opposing Creep When They Are Equipped To Friendly Creep

I think this extend to any thing (other heroes included) in distance of creeps that have lil helpers attached.

I hope they consider it a bug and not intended.
It is obviously a bug as the behavior is highly inconsistent from hero to hero. Seemingly random which spells break it and do not. For example Ivy's tether auto-latching onto any allied target nearby used to stop it and some dev graciously took the time to fix that last year. Ivy's Kudzu and Geist's DoT left on the ground after bomb do not cancel carpet. This spell does, Paige's DoT left on the ground after Conjure Dragon does. Lots of others, and the rules for when a spell does and does not cancel the item have not been stated anywhere.

It seems like most stuff stops it though, which makes me think that is the intended behavior and the exceptions are the bugs. But I think it feels very frustrating and the carpet shouldn't be canceled by abilities that were cast before using the carpet.

Yeah, lets pray to god they can fix this as soon as possible. Being kicked over the carpet for something that happens lanes aways blows.

If that was the case don't you think "dealing damage will dismiss the carpet" would be in the items' description?

As it stands right now "doing any action will dismiss the carpet" reads to me like most of these are due to incorrectly categorized functions on spells, which are treated as if the player is taking action. In reality the player is not "taking an action" when these effects are happening, as they can still occur while the player is stunned, cursed, or dead. All of these things can still occur while channeling a rescue beam for example, without interrupting the channel.

There is a thread from 2024 where Ivy had a similar interaction which was fixed.

Magic Carpet did not need +50% buff duration to be a solid item. It needs to not get dispelled for no reason on half of the roster. Today's patch gives it way more buff duration than necessary and it will still be bad on half of the heroes in the game.
