Holliday Rework

Hi everyone!
Holliday was released hastily together with Sinclair and Viper. Currently she is an unpopular character because her abilities do not synergize well with each other. Her visual design (cowboy-style) does not match the industrialization era of the USA. Therefore, I propose to change both her visual design and her abilities.

Abilities rework:
  1. Gunpowder Barrel — the barrel should explode instantly on contact with an enemy hero. It can also be detonated by punching it or shooting it. It should have a strong Spirit-damage scaling, and also apply knockback to the enemy on explosion — this will help maintain distance from opponents, especially those who have gap-closing abilities.
  2. Remove Trampoline, and instead add the Spiritual Lasso from her Ultimate:

Spiritual Lasso — now has charges, and has two different actions on tap and on hold:
• On tap — pulls the enemy toward Holiday, and while pulling she performs a backward jump creating distance.
• On hold — pulls Holiday toward an enemy or ally, and when approaching them Holiday passes through them (similar to Lesh’s jump).
• The Spiritual Lasso can also be used on a wall — in this case the “hold” effect always triggers: Holiday pulls herself to the wall and launches forward with acceleration.

  1. Wild Shot — add scaling from weapon damage.
  2. Replace Spiritual Lasso ultimate with: High Noon Duel — Holiday freezes standing in a pose, and after a short delay she unloads her entire magazine at extremely high speed in the direction of the aim.

    I hope this great game will continue to evolve. Tell me what you think — and I’ve got many more ideas coming, so stay tuned on the forum.

I disagree, i think she has great synergy with her kit. 1, 2, and 4 have good synergy with diving the enemy team to make a pick. the only one thats a bit odd is her 3, since now you cant even use barrels to confirm but what ever.

I think the only issues with holliday currently are balance issues.

1. too strong gun damage and weapon scaling. i've seen most hollidays build full gun ignoring all 4 of her abilities. she has way too good of a mobility to also have good sustained damage. gun is also way safer since her ult build gets completely shut down if the enemies buy rescue beam.

2. jump pad placement is a bit jank. i agree thematically the jump pads are weird, but gamplay should always come first.

3. i think the barrel damage is fine mostly, but i would like her to get her barrel cc back, maybe rework barrel T3 upgrade completely

in my opinion she should be balanced around being a gank/pick hero and she needs good mobility to do so. she should not be able to take 1v1s

The point is that both Gun Holiday and Spirit Holiday should have abilities that are actually used. When I play Gun Holiday, I barely use anything except the basic auto-attack. Abilities that only work under specific rare conditions make no sense, and as a result the character ends up being unpopular.

i don't think there is anything wrong with a character being unpopular, i happen to like and play ult holliday a lot, but i really dislike playing gun builds. if you want every hero to have functioning spirit and gun builds its much harder to have unique heroes.

i think its fine that we have heroes that lean more into spirit and heroes that lean more into gun. its better if heroes have different strenghts and weaknesses
