PREFYX / SUFYX ARE TWO SENTIENT REVOLVERS WHO ARE AT A CONSTANT CONFLICT WITH EACHOTHER OVER A MINDLESS HOST BODY.​


ALTERNATIVE NAME: DUET


Backstory:


Legends speak of the existence of two sentient weapons of unknown origin; Prefyx and Sufyx.
On their own, each weapon grants its wielder terrifying precision: whispers of tactics, flawless instincts, the kind of combat awareness that turns an ordinary fighter into something far more dangerous. In the right hands, one of these weapons can easily dominate any fire fight.

But the stories came with a warning: NEVER put these two weapons together. A curious individual dismissed this as superstition and found out that these two weapons were hidden in two different continents for a reason.

Holding them both, the individual was curious to finally see the "Duet of Death".

Then came the voices.

Not whispers of strategy. Not guidance. Arguments.

Loud. Relentless, Unyielding - CONSTANT. FOREVER!.

Prefyx criticized every stance. Sufyx mocked every decision. Each tried to override the other, flooding the wielder’s mind with conflicting commands, insults, and increasingly personal attacks.

"Aim here!"
"no, there! are you blind?"
"HOW COULD YOU LET HIM ESCAPE!?"
"You imbecile told him to aim for the head! Had he just shot him center mass he would've been dead!"
"That aim is pathetic, we once had a vessel who was a double amputee with better aim than yours!"
"This new vessel is completely f-ing clueless!"


Indeed they were a duet of death, just not in a way he expected. Unable to dismiss the weapons, the wielder eventually turned one of the guns on himself; just to finally have some silence.

Ever since then, there were many wielders of the duo, each quickly becoming a mindless vessel for the two competing wills. Arriving in New York, the two weapons look for a way to separate from each other.




Theme:​


The "real" hero here are Prefyx and Sufyx, which are carried by a "Vessel" who is dominated by these guns. Essentially, a walking corpse with little will. This human Vessel has no name, cannot speak (he's mute). He should look generic and the design should indicate that.

The hero would have 2 voices, which are Prefyx and Sufyx. Locked in an ideological nightmare, they rarely agree on anything. They always talk down to the Vessel (Player) if he misses an ability.

Prefyx: "Sufyx, do you recall the drunk? Even he understood trigger discipline, unlike this talentless Vessel."

Sufyx: "…Oh sure, he had ‘discipline.’ If by discipline you mean screaming, spinning in circles, and somehow killing everyone in the room. …Honestly? Kinda beautiful."



Gameplay:​


Ability 1: TRICKSHOT

Enchants your next bullet with a special energy.

If you hit an enemy directly, he will be feared away from you.

If you hit a wall, the shot will bounce towards the nearest enemy, fearing him away from the wall.

If you hit a floating charm, the enemy which this charm belonged to will be feared towards you.

fear := new status effect, causes you to lose control AND also walk in a direction away from something.



Ability 2: DRAW

Prepare for any incoming damage for 1.5 seconds. During this time, you are slowed by 80% and unable to perform any actions. This can be canceled by you at any time.

Once you receives any enemy hero damage during the duration, you ignore 50% of the instance's damage and instantly draw and shoot a single shot towards the Attacker's head, dealing headshot damage + bonus spirit damage to the target.

If there is a floating charm hovering in the air (from ability 3), you will also shot an additional shot towards that via the equipped weapon.


ABILITY 3: ETERNAL CONFLICT

Active:

If Prefyx is equipped, switch to Sufyx.
If Sufyx is equipped, switch to Prefyx.
Swapping causes you to be unable to fire for 0.5 seconds.

Passive:
Prefyx and Sufyx are at an eternal conflict; only one of them can be equipped at a time.
Each weapon has unique bonuses and unique magazine. Reload causes both weapons to be reloaded.

Passive:

Your gun damage causes Buildup. At 100%, a floating charm leaves the target's body and hover above it for a very short duration in a randomized pattern.

You can consume this charm by shooting it, giving you effects based on the equipped gun.
- Shooting this charm with Prefyx causes you to heal for 5% of your max health.
- Shooting this charm with Sufyx deals additional gun damage but also sacrifices 5% of your health.

(Note: The whole point here is a balance between wanting that extra damage on a target but staying at a moderate amount of hp to not die)

The buildup has no CD and can be reapplied for more floating charms.

Ability 4 (Ultimate): Infernal Annihilation


Channel for 1 second; reloading your equipped weapon quickly. Afterwards, unleash an array of bullets from the equipped weapon towards the crosshair with an insane fire-rate and bonus spirit damage per bullet until the magazine of the equipped weapon depletes completely. Any floating charms grant enhanced bonuses in this state.

During the duration, you cannot swap weapons. You are immune to disarms and you will continue to fire towards the crosshair even when stunned, slept, cursed etc. until your magazine is depleted.

Thanks for reading! This is the forth iteration of this concept which I've made a while ago and become one of my personal favorite hero themes I've ever created
