banned despite rejoining match?

i got a ban for leaving a game when my internet suddenly cut (thanks comcast), I rejoined as soon as my router rebooted but still got a ban? i feel like the ban system in this game is a little too harsh currently, I understand wanting to discourage DCing but like i'm getting banned for 24 hour periods because my internet has cut out a few times and once i admittedly went afk for a few minutes because my lawyer called me out of the blue. why not make the bans contingent on games played w/o DC, if you play 20 or 30 games without a DC, it should reset the penalty to the minimum again. i dont know why ya'll went with a system clearly modele after the us justice system lol

Dude the same thing happened to me last night. My internet went out but as soon as I was able to, I rejoined. Then in that same match it happened again. But this time when I rejoined one of my teammates did abandon the match, but I am the one who got banned. So now I am banned until tomorrow.

i believe if it takes you longer than a certain amount of time (5 mins i think)? it considers you to have abandoned even if you join back again. you'll see the red (or green) box in the corner when you do.
