Bad Matchmaking Thread

My rank tanked since the matchmaking updates today, to the point to where it looks like I'm smurfing. Over the last couple days, I was floating around Emissary/Archon, and I'm now in Initiate/Seeker lobbies. I did recently start playing again after about a year break, but I have over 10 matches under my belt since I returned.

Geniuenly horrid match, the haze here was smurfing, but yeah, I used my priority token and got the most unfair match ive had in months

I'm not sure how we address this, but this is a frequent scenario I run into whenever I am in a party of 3 or more. We are between Alchemist and Emissary and it seems to be the sweet spot for high ranked players playing with new players. That and smurfs.

Here is an example of a game we just played, checked statlocker and 3/5 were oracle or higher and two are new players in a party of 5. Checked their match history and they have 15 or so games of absolute stomps.

I've recently been ranking up/down from oracle 2 to archon 5-6, but my games seem to have players that just downloaded the game and they either:
1. get stomped and leave the game
2. don't get something their way and just start griefing.

Since the update attracted many new players I would suggest more rigorous punishment for leaving the game.


For example: this game just happened - rem had prio token on Silver and didn't get her so he wrote 1 message -> heavy meleed in his lane into the enemy guardian and died at 30seconds in the game -> disconnected and didn't come back. This was an oracle 4 game which is insane to me that people just don't care..
