Bad Matchmaking Thread

I think roughly 1 or 2 out of my last 25 games have felt like it wasn't stomped by a smurf or a cheater on either side.

Maybe you guys should like, consider *not* allowing high skill range parties? Because it's absolutely miserable and it's the cause of roughly 100% of the bad games. I would seriously rather wait 30m for a fun match than play an awful one that's over in 20m.

I've literally dropped like 8 ranks due to these losses in the past month and yet, it persists.

One of the most brutal stomps I've experienced. the ONLY kill the enemy got was in the end game when lash dynamo ulted into fountain. for our support mcginnis.

Bad matchmaking isn't only losses, it's wins too.

Was playing with two premades and the enemy team clearly had two people cheating (specifically vindicta and infernus). Vindicta clearly was running some sort aim assist by minimum. They didn't even deny it.

They went 33-2 after we just gave up on it.

47362456 come on the fuck how long this loosing streak with rigged matchmaking gonna keep raping my ass, and while i report this fuckery i experience i get fucking bans for reporting such bullshit

47363671 team spent the majority of the game holding w into walls and shooting at the floor, unfun game. Game is quickly over in 15 minutes. Looks to be players brand new to the game. Some players do almost 0 dmg all game

Valve, daha ne düzenlenebilir? Sana sürekli geri bildirim gönderiyoruz ve sen şu anda daha fazla veriye sahip olduğunu söylüyorsun. Bak, bu haksızlık. Rakip takım dışarı çıkarken bizim takımımız iyi oynayamıyor.

47365651 team quickly goes 0-30 in under 20 minutes and rages. Most of them spend the game running in circles without doing anything. Unsure if they are new to the game or actual bots.
extemely unfun and unbalanced game.

47367220 team spent most of the game not doing anything, dropping 15k souls in under 10 minutes. A few players spent the game shooting at the floor. Unfun and unbalanced game

sorry for the long message... really really really frustrated with this game...

I’m only listing today’s matches (and a few from yesterday) because I’m completely convinced that this kind of low-quality matchmaking cannot be the result of a normal algorithm. Around 65% of my recent games look like this, and I’ve already dropped six freaking ranks because of it!

I honestly have no idea who at Valve is hand-selecting these players for me, but something feels off. Can someone with access to the system please look into this? I know I’m not a great player, but why does it feel like I’m being targeted?

I’m almost certain that if you searched my user ID in the code, you’d find something like:
  • “Pick at least two of the most AFK-prone players in the pool (the ones who do 10k damage in 30+ minute games),”
  • “Include players who abandon at least 60% of their matches,” and
  • “Prefer players who statistically go around 0–4 before minute five.”
I’m convinced because this is statistically impossible to happen naturally. I could understand getting matches like this once a week or once a month, but every single day? Come on, Valve—this is way too obvious.

  2. 47375549
  3. 47371224
  4. 47369448
  5. 47320895
  6. 47314480
  7. 47312930
  8. 47263698
  9. ...
and so on...

I really wish the matchmaker would actually get fixed. The people who throw games should take the biggest MMR penalty — especially:
  • players who abandon,
  • players who intentionally feed the enemy,
  • players who grief by sitting in base for minutes, punching walls or shooting at nothing (and honestly, I’ve become one of them at this point, because so many of my games are already over by minute 10).

if i may talk on behalf of frustrated players like myself: We don’t need new heroes, we don’t need a new shop, and we definitely don’t need new icons. Just fix the matchmaker. Use AI to analyze player behavior and split problem players evenly between teams instead of piling them all on one side. What’s the point of a “matchmaker” if most games are complete stomps? At that rate, you might as well replace it with a random function.
