sorry for the long message... really really really frustrated with this game...
I’m only listing today’s matches (and a few from yesterday) because I’m completely convinced that this kind of low-quality matchmaking
cannot be the result of a normal algorithm. Around 65% of my recent games look like this, and I’ve already dropped six freaking ranks because of it!
I honestly have no idea who at Valve is hand-selecting these players for me, but something feels off. Can someone with access to the system please look into this? I know I’m not a great player, but why does it feel like I’m being targeted?
I’m almost certain that if you searched my user ID in the code, you’d find something like:
- “Pick at least two of the most AFK-prone players in the pool (the ones who do 10k damage in 30+ minute games),”
- “Include players who abandon at least 60% of their matches,” and
- “Prefer players who statistically go around 0–4 before minute five.”
I’m convinced because this is statistically impossible to happen naturally. I could understand getting matches like this once a week or once a month, but
every single day? Come on, Valve—this is way too obvious.

I really wish the matchmaker would actually get fixed. The people who throw games should take the
biggest MMR penalty — especially:
- players who abandon,
- players who intentionally feed the enemy,
- players who grief by sitting in base for minutes, punching walls or shooting at nothing (and honestly, I’ve become one of them at this point, because so many of my games are already over by minute 10).
if i may talk on behalf of frustrated players like myself: We don’t need new heroes, we don’t need a new shop, and we definitely don’t need new icons.
Just fix the matchmaker. Use AI to analyze player behavior and split problem players evenly between teams instead of piling them all on one side. What’s the point of a “matchmaker” if most games are complete stomps? At that rate, you might as well replace it with a random function.
