Bad Matchmaking Thread

Match 40428737, really awful hour long stalemate, that ended in haze just jumping in and ulting the patron after her entire team was dead. One team has both a vindicta and a grey talon, which was really annoying. Overall one of the worst matches I've played.

i mean... it seems to me that there should be some kind of reward for the efforts of the players, i should try to win so that other players ruin it for me? i don't mean to sound toxic or aggressive, i just find it really frustrating, i really appreciate this game and i appreciate yall, devs!

ID 40445437: Match full of smurfs against rookie players. It's incredible that the game punishes you with matches like this just for improving your rank. After a good winning streak, I always start getting placed in games that are impossible to carry, and to make it worse, I'm forced to play with my worst champion among the selected ones. I don't know if the report button for smurfs actually does anything, but I don't see the point in matching games like this. There shouldn't be such a huge gap between players, and smurfs should be detected faster to prevent new players like those on my team from facing them. Otherwise, the game is doomed to rot without a steady flow of people willing to learn it.

I also find it unbelievable how poorly heroes are distributed in some matches. The best heroes in the roster are all placed on one side, while on the other, you have new players trying out some of the weakest or most difficult characters. It's obvious they're going to get crushed. I love the game and I wouldn’t want to see it die. However, matches like these kill people’s interest in learning how to play, and that’s an opinion you can easily confirm by reading posts in this thread or checking the content being shared on platforms like Reddit or YouTube. Now that the hype and novelty of the heroes have passed, I really hope more time is invested into improving the matchmaking system, hero selection balance, and bans for players who ruin the experience for everyone else.

This was trash matchmaking idk what else to do like the couple of games have been just this

I dont understand how someone can routinely drop 5+ KDA games and be considered alchemist 1
Valve doesnt care

Overall match quality is godawful now - even if you play your heart out there's absolutely nothing stopping matchmaking from putting new or way lower rank players on your team, and most games are completely imbalanced stomps. I have spent 150 games climbing from Initiate to Alchemist (after formerly being Ritualist but rank decay is absurd and will tank you all the way to low Initiate if you take a break). Currently the only way to improve your match quality is to climb since ranked and casual are now merged and technically "every" game is ranked. Therefore, the BEST way to get back to your rank isn't to grind, or even one-trick your main; no, now the best way to not waste 100+ hours attempting to return to your former rank is to make a smurf and simply spend 20-30 games letting the system rank you properly again.

Yes, smurfing is bad because "high elo players shouldn't be stomping low elo lobbies", but what's the point in not doing it when you're ALREADY getting matched with new players constantly? If anything, smurfing actually results in less "imbalanced" games if your rank decayed hard enough.

Something seriously needs to change with both the elo decay system (a 2-week, non-seasonal irreversible decay that literally puts you at the bottom of the rankings is insane) and how matchmaking is currently throwing people of WILDLY different elos together. As of the current system, it's honestly arguable that Valve is unintentionally PROMOTING the creation of smurfs given how many matches are already being ruined by this and smurfing being the only way to fix this in a reasonable amount of time.

Almost every single one of these games had a brand new account in it and was decided within 10 minutes, either every lane lost immediately or my team had someone throwing the game, all back to back as well.

I keep seeing HUGE random spikes of souls in random games. Pointless games when the soul lead is to harsh.

Sorry but after months of this terrible match making, it appears the dev in charge here is not competent enough for this.

They seem to stack the losses, i just had 12 games in a row with the worst match making possible, like it must be intentional. Devs are absolutely clueless how to make this work, games gonna die so fast, i mean its already basically dead, but this match making people wont put up with.

Smurfing/cheating 40475994 , ROBERT DINERO (haze) level 1 steam acc, admitted having more than 1 accounts in the match ending. Also less than 1 percent missing headshots on all her 3 matches as statlocker says. IP ban on her would be nice thank you.

I've tried my best but no matter what I do I'm stuck at initate I. Each game plays almost the same but I'm tired of it, I'll come back when you've found a way of dealing with cheaters and sorted out this matchmaking system as the game just isn't fun when its impossible to win.
