Bad Matchmaking Thread

Im done. Im litteraly done. Im not played a game for a half of a year, and return only to try a new patches. First 15 games i guess was okay, but after that every game become horrible. I lost 9 games in a row.
Why you punishing good players? Why a good play must led to bad consequences?

I quit this game last time for the same reason. If you play good - you getting worst team, you getting enemies that play like a full 6x stack party, you getting zero teamplay actions from your allies.

I don't really belive this tread means anything... "Thanks" for forked matchmaking from Dota 2, but Dota don't dies bcs of legacy and huge fanbase, not becouse of your "balanced" matchmaking. Say hello to IceFrog, im DONE.

Would you look at that! MVP on my team again. Most objective damage, most kills, most player damage, there for the team fights. But it doesn't mean shit when once again it's my team that gets the DESIGNATED FEEDING SHITTER. I'm fucking tired of playing the best I can, beating my lane, just to drop off because I can't be everywhere and I can't stop my fucking retarded team mates from feeding the Warden.

It feels like utter shit to be doing the best on your team to suddenly feeling like you're tickling people because your whole team keeps feeding.

At one point, I save people from the Warden, get him to 1hp when he starts ulting. If one of the 3 shitters with me on half health would have stayed, he would've died. Instead the entire team fight flips and we lose.

At one point I get their whole team to 1/4 health. My team decides now is the time to stop shooting and try to punch the Dynamo to death. They all get stuck in blackhole, die and I'm hunted down.

The game feels like trash and I'm done with it. Maybe I'll come back next update if the player count is higher but as it stands you have absolutely dropped the ball on this. Your MM is the worst I have ever experienced in gaming

It speaks for itself really. You're putting an on average Arcanist 4 lobby against a Ritualist 5 lobby. You're telling me, out of the 2 archons on the enemy team, we couldn't have one? You're saying we couldn't have at least one of the ritualist and they get the seeker, just to balance out the fact you gave the other team 2 fucking archon players.

It is honestly astonishing that you look at this and say "Sorry, it's just player numbers." I can look at this and see multiple ways I could switch the players around to make it balanced. I am convinced, and you cannot convince me otherwise, that the MM thinks you should be at a certain "level" and forces you to be there. Every time I have climbed rank, I suddenly seem to have worse players than in lower ranks. The game seems to want me in low Arcanist. When I play in lobbies that level, I get people coordinating and who actually know what they are doing. I get up into Ritualist and them Emissary lobbies and the enemy team gets phantom players and I get a seeker lane mate. I get tanked back to Arcanist and suddenly my matches are good again. I climb a little, and I get matches like above to slap me back down again. It feels like there is no skill involved at all. I'm entirely at the whim of who matchmaking decides gets the double digit feeder this round.

tl;dr your MM is fucking garbage.

I don't think there needs to be much explaining. Extreme soul difference at the end, enemy team dropping 20+ kills while our team had multiple deaths. There was no fair shot in this game of even winning, definitely anything but a fair and even match.

The characters released are gonna be overpowered, and it's going to take 6 months for a fucking balance patch to correct it, along with no actual QoL updates for the health of the game, e.g. a fucking draft.

absolutely whack, i have like 1200 matches and i got what looks like 4 teammates who seemed to have maybe 20 games of experience.

the ivy and i won our lane at ~4:40, but our teammates were just so inexperienced that they didn't even seem to have learned enemy abilities yet. *three* players almost went 0/10 each.

will matchmaking ever put players of similar hours together?? or maybe an unranked mode soon?

You made nothing since public playtest to ban cheaters. Only stupid frog shit when cheater is detected, but it no longer works. No detections, no ban.

Took a look at this one in statlocker, and, what the hell??? This isn't even just an outlier, this was completely unfair from a data standpoint. This is indefensible! If the majority of the playerbase is moving toward Arcanist, why am I getting so many games against Archon players as a Ritualist player? I am not some guy shooting for eternus thinking I'm owed wins, but isn't this just completely antithetical to how a skill based matchmaking system should work?

Edit: Oh, that Warden is ASCENDANT. What the fuck???

Figured I'll come back for the update. First game was fine. Then this game happened. Hideously one-sided and the other team definitely had smurfs or cheaters on it. The Yamato bought no items until she got told that you're supposed to.

Of late the matchmaking has been consistently horrendous while smurfs and cheaters are also absolutely rampant. I do want this game to succeed but these problems are going to kill it.
 
I agree with everyone's sentiment here about Smurfs and cheaters. It is crazy out of hand. They need to require a specific number of days before an account can be invited and download Deadlock. I suggest 3+ days old accounts in order to receive an invite and download the game. Match making should also take into account the number of hours a player has in the game (in-match hours only). Moreover, or optionally steam accounts should require a real phone number when setup and a phone number can only be attached to a single steam account. With exceptions for family, children and lost (requiring new) accounts. There would need to be a process for those.

Side note, from a general internet user and gamer. The day is coming where we will be required to present a real ID or some form of ID to play games on steam and/or use the net. All politics aside, it is an unfortunate truth to the progress we are seeing in the digital world lately.

Overall, this wouldn't just solve Smurfs and cheaters in Deadlock. It would solve it in nearly all online PVP/PVE games. Do I enjoy that idea? No. Do I want it to happen? No, more often than not. Will it happen in the future? Yes, at some point soon-next 5-8 years realistically. With AI advancements and everything else they will have too or the 'dead internet theory' will become the 'dead game theory' with just bots playing bots to sell accounts to real people who just play with other bots until the game dies.

*EDIT* With some sort of ID attached to (any type) of account it would allow companies to not only ban specific people from playing their game, unless they use someone else's ID. It would allow them to go after the network on people who create, support, and manage cheats.
