Bad Matchmaking Thread

Image speaks for itself, average rank of teams is arcanist 2 vs ritualist 5. Why a gap this big is even allowed is beyond me. Put me in a longer queue instead of giving me such a hard game please

Has anyone who frequents this forum ever seen a single acknowledgment of the matchmaking system from a Deadlock dev? I feel like posting match id's here is pointless until we get some sort of confirmation that they actually give a shit. I get the game is under development but with nearly 45k daily concurrent players someone from the team should make an attempt to let us know they are working on it.

Nope, guarantee they dont read this. At this point im fairly certain there isnt a dev that even knows how to read. Play long enough and EVERY SINGLE MATCH, is massively lopsided, zero fun, zero point .... "getting data is bullshit", devs are just braindead.

I guess I don't have the ability to clean up your mess, but at the very least, I can point you towards what to do because you guys can't even do that at all, Pathetic.

Possibly the fastest stomp I've seen in 1500h , no leavers on my team - we all got crushed both in lane and defending objectives.

Amusingly , the very next match (with the same party member and similar heroes on the enemy team) was the closest I've ever played , where we won after a tense back and forth leaving our patron with less than 15% hp. This is despite mismatched lobby average ranks , unlike in the stomp.
 
My previous high was Ascendant I, then I took a year break and now I cannot escape Arcanist. I have over 1,000 hours. I play on the NA server. My overall winrate is 54% which was primarily achieved by solo queuing.

My current experience with matchmaking is that unless I play a character that is designed specifically to kill enemy players, and also perform outrageously well - then I will simply not win. Over the past 16 matches I have 4 wins and 12 losses, 8 of those losses are in the screenshots below. In nearly every game I am either the best performing or one of the top three players on my team, and yet that is not enough to have even a 50% winrate over 16 games or more.

My opponents very frequently have players that go 15-3 or something. It is very difficult for me to believe that there are still SEVEN ranks above the peak of player skill that I witness in my games. It feels as if players of EVERY skill are present in my games, and for some reason the worse players are on my team.

Paradoxically, if I happen to luck into a higher skill match, like Emissary or Archon, then I do not seem to perform much worse and actually have a better time overall synergizing with my teammates. My teammates in Arcanist often struggle with simple actions such as maintaining lanes or buying counter items.

I could be completely delusional and bad at the game, but something feels completely off. I simply cannot, while performing well, have above average match results in a rank that seems to represent the bottom 50% of skill.

Hey, @Yoshi , @ZM , GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER. OUR ENTIRE TEAM HAD TO DEAL WITH FUCKING LAG SWITCHERS. 44304062 Holy shit, you are so fucking bad at your game development, you can't even get your servers secure to deal with lag switches.

No respect for your team at all at this point. You guys are incapable of even being able to maintain server security such that cheaters with lag switches that experienced no lag and were able to coordinate instantly without any issues just instantly stop any of our late game pushes when we had a chance to come back. Seriously, don't ever fucking touch another game again. You cannot for the life of yourself even call yourselves game developers at this point.

You're a single player + 5 teammates vs 6 enemies fracturing the contribution or solo carry by even more compared to Dota 2
Back in the dota2.dev forum days this type of matchmaking behavior was called 50% winrate or modern term is now called EOMM

If deadlock seriously want competitive future then they should stop this type of matchmaking system it hurts the integrity of the game itself

You keep mentioning me but I'm not a dev so I cannot do anything extra to help alleviate your issues. Besides that, the server lag is not a Deadlock-specific or Steam-specific issue. It's a global thing, so I'm sorry that something unrelated to this game is causing issues.

The enemy team had a leaver and we still lost thanks to immense feeding from several teammates, I think I performed alright (Dynamo), im not sure if the enemies were ranked too low or my teamates were ranked too high.

@Yoshi Edit: can i get a refund because fuck me your matchmaking has been dogshit for 8 games in a row. Rank diffs, teammates that can't get more than 2 kills. games ending in less than 30 minutes. VERY NICE. I will come back tomorrow with a smurf hack account. i will post here and let you see
