XBOX Controller Does Not Work In Deadlock, Please Help!

Hey, I tried connecting my xbox controller on my laptop and it didn't connect in-game, even if I tried to convert keybinds to controller maps. I keep trying to plug it in and plug it out, it still does not work. Can anyone help me on this?

Are you using Steam Input? It's worked fine for me.

This game isn't really playable with a controller, just so you know, btw.
