VAC timeout

ok so I've seen this issue around with no explanation on how to fix it, "Valve Anti-Cheat challenge timed out. Please ensure that you are not using any programs that may interfere with VAC, and confirm that Steam is correctly installed". I got banned for a bit because I couldn't rejoin the match no matter how hard I tried. I had nothing else running except discord, steam, and deadlock. I've noticed CSGO has the same issue so I assume its something the dev team cannot fix.

CSGO doesn't have valve servers anymore, so vac shouldn't have any impact on that. It's likely the cause of some program running on your pc, possibly faceit anticheat or some other anticheat. Also try to reinstall or verifying the game files in steam.

sorry, when I said CSGO had issues I meant like 2-4 years ago because you can see old forum posts about the same issue. The game runs fine again right now but who knows if it'll happen again.
