yes no shit it tells me to do that but by the time the verifying is done i get banned for abandoning the game then the game crashes again anyways so it doesn't fix anything literally

oh wow would you look at that! I'm just deleting the game the player base is dead anyways and devs cant even fix a problem that's been happening to multiple people since last year

I had to replace my RAM sticks in order to stop this thing, they were faulty

it seems you can get a copy of pak01.vpk from someone else that does not crash and you should be good. Yes needs to be looked at because its been a common issue with some users

i cant seem to find the pak01.vpk file but there's a bunch of them that are numbered from 1-199
