The Test Dummy - T2 Purple Item

The Test Dummy is a Purple T2 Active Item that allows the player to place a Test Dummy (like those from the Testing Range) anywhere within a 10-meter radius. The Test Dummy will remain alive for 15 seconds before disappearing, and has a cooldown of 60 seconds.

The Test Dummy is "hostile" (it doesn't attack, it simply takes hits) to the enemy team but friendly to the caster's team.

The Test Dummy is an entity with 1000 Health and has a 50% weapon damage reduction, but it can be destroyed with one Heavy Melee; it can still be moved by knockback; and Minions/Guardians/Walkers will deal increased damage to it.

Any enemy weapon projectile will pass through the dummy, but will have its damage reduced by 30%.

Pros:
  • Can distract enemy waves
  • Blocks choke points like small doorways or pathways
  • The Dummy will make it harder for the enemy to engage at mid-range with the target, forcing them to either take a better position or to charge at the dummy with a Heavy Melee.
  • Counters items such as Hunter's Aura or Torment Pulse.
  • Distracts Grave's flying skulls
  • Counters Drifter's passive.
  • Can protect from Bebop's grab or Paradox's Ultimate.
  • Reduces the effectiveness of Celeste's Weapon and Ultimate.
  • Enemies can accidentally apply active items to the dummy.
Cons:
  • Can be killed with Cultist Sacrifice
  • Can proc Tesla Bullets.
  • Can be used for healing with weapon/spirit lifesteal
  • Buffs Items and Passives that benefit from having enemies nearby.
  • Can be targeted by hero abilities that require a target (ex: Seven's second ability)
  • Becomes useless by the late-game.
