The Sorcerer ( UMVC3 Doctor Strange not Rivals )

This will be a slightly over the top hero so I will sadly skip out on the back story.

This character does not have to be male, but a woman or a young adult.

Here are some heroes made by others who's abilities were slightly similar to idea in this kit and helped formed Sorcerer. Not a true copy paste, but are honorable mentions helping me scratch that itch.

Summons a crystal in front of them, these crystals remain where they are summoned indefinitely, and Sorcerer can have up to three Pylons active at a time. If a fourth Pylon is summoned, the oldest one disappears.

Pylon has no hitbox and has no function on its own. This move's only purpose is to enhance and alter the properties of your abilities.

Pylons disappear once they enhance an ability.
A single ability when used can only be enhanced 3 times from Pylons.
Can enhance 1 ability from 1 Pylon, cannot use 2 abilities on the same Pylon.
Pylons will always fire your abilities in the direction you are facing

Placement range: 10m
Duration: limitless or 60s
Limit on field: 3
Cool down: 0.25s

Maybe starts with 1 Pylon and gains the 2nd and 3rd from soul level boon.. or just slap all 3 in!

Can stack Pylons on top of each other if desired. (Stacking)

Abilities
1)Orb

Release a slow moving orb that moves in a straight line, dealing spirit damage over time to all targets it pierces in radius and slowing down upon enemy contact.

Launch through Pylons to change properties.

You can shoot/melee to push Orb a short distance to change its direction.

A1 +5s duration A2 + range A3 +10 spirit damage per second

Orb will need to hit a Pylon to enhance it's effects.

Damage per second: 5
Duration: 20s
Radius: 5m
Max range: 25m

When Orb touches a surface, it ends prematurely.

1st Pylon jump: Fires a new projectile in a straight line, that pierces heroes, is faster and deals the full spirit damage once in radius as it travels. Upon reaching max range, the projectile will seek to the nearest Pylon within its radius, dealing separate instance of spirit damage along its path.
When reaching max range and a Pylon is in radius, it will change color, identifying that it will re-launch itself towards the closest Pylon. Cannot redirect once it relaunched.

Upon touching a surface, it ends prematurely.
2nd Pylon jump: Fires a new projectile in a straight line that is faster, bigger and deals the spirit damage over time in a radius while able to ricochet/bounce off surfaces/enemies for a longer duration. Can shoot or melee the projectile.
3rd Pylon jump: Fires a laser beam from your pylons at a fixed range, each dealing spirit damage on the initial hit and continuous spirit damage over time within radius for a short duration.

The 3rd version will search for other Pylons in range of it that can also fire laser beams.
Stacking Pylons jumps starts to the 2nd or 3rd enhancement.

Overly complicated probably.

2)Mystic Sword

Disarm yourself for a short duration, releasing 3 slashes with a Magic Sword, each strike deals separate instances of spirit damage at a very short range while deflecting bullet damage, spirit damage, debuffs and on-hit effects in front of you, leaving your back exposed.

Slash through Pylons to change properties.

Pylons that are slashed will end Mystic sword.

A1 +2 movement speed during Mystic Sword that lingers A2 each deflect lowers the cool down A3 +100 damage and 2 slashes

Damage per slash: 40
Range: 5m
Slash intervals: 1
Duration: 3s (cannot be upgraded normally from duration modifiers)

Will deflect all damage, becoming ""invulnerable"" in front of them, slashes are only for Spirit Damage and Pylons.

1 Pylon: Create a powerful single slash dealing spirit damage in a large cone in front of you. Destroying/prematurely ending non-ultimate projectile abilities in radius. This slash can also hit Pylons
ex, Quantum Entanglement, Flying Cloak, Vexing Bolt, Conjure Dragon (if caught before landing), Serrated Knives (if fast enough)
2 Pylon: Release a powerful slash in a straight line in front of you with a large amount of range. Enemies will become slowed and take spirit damage on hit. Destroying/prematurely ending non-ultimate projectile abilities in radius. This slash can also hit Pylons
3 Pylon: Teleports you a short distance then releasing 3(5) slashes all around your destination, each dealing separate instances of spirit damage and deflecting bullet and spirit damage away from you for a duration. You are able to move, jump but disarmed.

Self cast to have Mystic Sword ignore Pylons

3)Pillar

After a short delay, release a pillar of light on the floor of targeted area, dealing spirit damage over time to enemies caught inside the radius.

A1 +5m radius A2 -10s cool down A3 +45 damage per second

Self cast to have Pillar ignore Pylons

Damage per second: 25
Radius: 5m
Duration: 4s
Cool down: 30s

1 Pylon: Closest Pylon within radius will also release a Pillar from where it is with increased radius.
2 Pylon: Fires a moving Pillar that will go towards the direction you are facing when activated. Does not follow your cross hair.
3 Pylon: Fires fast moving 3 Pillars that will spin from location and spread out wider for the duration

Pillar ability itself will always search for Pylons to react.

4)Vanish

Globally turn you and allied heroes invisible and grants movement speed. Enemies close enough can see through the invisibility. Shooting, being shot at, activating abilities or items will reveal you for a short time.

The invisibility applied restores itself after the fade delay as long as the buff duration is active.

A1 +1 movement speed for the duration A2 +3s duration A3 applies a 200 unpurgable Spirit Shield and -60s cool down

Can be purged
Duration: 10s
Fade delay: 2s
Movement speed: 1.5ms
Cool down: 160s

Thoughts and finishes
This is a call back on my first and second invoker adaptation. I made this kit because originally ive said I feared this type of archtype would replace invoker in some way.

I decided to choose Dr. Strange's mechanics from Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 because it was going to be my first post to counter my invoker post, but I didnt know how I should type it out etc etc.. but here we are! This one might be my actual last hero to suggest before seeing what is planned for the future of this game. Maybe I really wont have to make more and can now push that creativity into something else... or not! This is always just for fun and a great way to work my own brain.

Though what I made became an overly complicated idea, I might be missing some key details or overlooked something.

It was a fun hero to think about. Both my invoker posts are old and looking back I would change up a few things or rework them completely. Changing anything is like covering it up with make up and I prefer to see how it was naturally, look back and think about those moments during its creation. I am happy living with what I sent out, like most of the things I have posted, theyre all to scratch other peoples brain.


The reflect is an inspiration from Genji from OW and Fencer by nathanieljbrill which has some rumors roaming around.

I sometimes overlook peoples work, with multiple tabs open, comparing, reading, but i do always find myself rereading a lot of what interested me on the forums. But sometimes I miss a hero or more. Maybe I something will recatch my eye during or after the holidays.

I also managed to find someone who did similar style of posting as me with images to describe things.

Low bullet and health growth.. with reason!!

Some of the abilities i felt were similar to a few other creative ideas. There might be a few I missed. But nothing will be a true copy paste but some really did help flesh out this kit.

Abilities

1)Energy Blast
Release a energy blast dealing spirit damage and knocking back enemies. Changes base on SHIFT

2)Motorcyle
Surges forward, dealing spirit damage to enemies your path. Allowing you to shoot for the duration. Costing no ammo.

A1 A2 A3

Is invulnerable during Motorcycle

3)SHIFT
Shift between Weapon Damage or Health

A1 A2 A3 Gain % of Spirit base on weapon damage(?)

4)Morph!
Choose and become a hero, even outside of the current match. Gaining all abilities, weapon, and stats for a duration.


25% ability cool down reduction on morphed hero
duration 10s
can switch between the hero you choose and yourself for the duration.
Cannot use morphed hero ultimate

Sin clair will always steal morph! and not gain ultimates stealing from morphed heroes. (hope that makes sense)

2)Human Missile! Orginal
Launch yourself forward... like a missile becoming invulnerable for the duration, dealing spirit damage to enemies in your path.

During Human Missile, enemies within radius will be shot at. (Takes no ammo)
