The Revenant..and?! ( Storm Spirit / Ember Spirit / Void Spirit )

A cool concept I saw which got my brain thinking was jeffostrove's Stella, the Cosmic Spark. Which I will have a small section if interested.

A stranger walks by.
Days later, they go missing.

A shop closes early because the owner never returned from taking out the trash.
Children arriving home to no parents.
Beggars vanishing from corners.
Families moving out overnight without telling anyone why.
Cases from the police always going cold.
Nothing ties the events together.

People simply turn the other cheek, and the city forgets.

..and the Revenant keeps moving.

3)Dark Pulse

A1 +15 damage per second A2 gain a bullet shield base on the amount of enemies hit, scaling with spirit A3 +2 rooting enemies

Duration: 2s
Radius: 12m
Cool down: 30s

4)Wave of Terror

Passive: Gains a 1000 mana bar and a 10 mana regen for it

Activation: Become an invulnerable spiraling ectoplasma, moving forward in the direction you're facing while dealing spirit damage along your path base on distance traveled.

Can be canceled early by pressing it again when activated or ends when out of mana.

Requires 25 mana to activate and drains a % on use.

A1 +7 damage A2 casting abilities imbues your next shot to deal spirit damage A3 allows the use of abilities and items

Damage per meter traveled: 22
Radius: 6m
Range: Infinite
Cool down: none

Mana regen is affected by item health regeneration for half the effectiveness. Out of combat regen too.

Healing reductions affect the mana regen(?)

Casting Ghost Strike cancels Wave of Terror.

Complete invulnerability during ultimate.

Keeping Storm Spirit's original "Ball Lightning" while still managing his unique Mana bar to keep a similar play style.

As I was creating the kit, I checked to see if anyone had any similar, better or thought out ideas to help mold my kit. Even if what i usually post are slight copy paste versions from Dota 2, it is what I aim for since they do and can fit into Deadlock. I like a lot of heroes in dota and Storm Spirit is one of them.

I felt this character stood out to me and the art with it (ai or not, sorry always hard to tell with my old eyes) was interesting enough for me to sew the Revenant's abilities. If I can vision it.. I can vision it! but that is just me.

As much as I like some of jeffostrove's original ideas, I am in favor of just having Ball Lightning working.

I wont go into a deep dive, but provide my version of the kit which will be more or less similar to Revenant's current abilities.

Her weapon and stats will be the same as The Revenant's. Staying a very low hp hero, requiring close range, high risk and high reward

1)Faster than Light

Launch a small slow moving projectile that moves towards the direction you are facing, exploding when reaching max range or contact with an enemy, dealing multiple instances of spirit damage in a radius.

A1 -10s cool down A2 +45 damage and +15m radius A3 +2 explosion instances and knocks enemies into the center every hit.

Explosion duration: 5s
Explosion instances: 1s
Explosion damage: 55
Cool down: 30s

3)Star Lights

Release 6 stars that follow you, stars explode making contact with an enemy hero, dealing spirit damage on hit and slowing them for a duration.

A1 +15 damage A2 A3 gain a bullet shield base on the amount of enemies hit by stars, scaling with spirit

Troopers take half the damage(?)

Pressing Star Light during it's activation causes the stars spinning around you to expand and shrink as long as you have a star or till the duration is up.

4)Cosmic Voyage

I don't normally work over other people's ideas. Sometimes other people's ideas help me figure out my own. This wont be a common thing where I write up another's abilities, i think people enjoy their own ideas and I also enjoy what people come up with.

If not another weird evil ghost, I would use the Stella hero idea while keeping the Mana management mechanic for ""Ball Lightning"".

After dropping the little Earth Spirit kit, I wanted think up a way for Storm's or Ember's ultimate to work. I picked Storm Spirit as it felt more interesting to try and make a kit that worked. I wanted another hero like Terror and Ghost that i brought up before, straying away from a elemental brother. This was a self test from skipping out on abilities from Puppet Master and Musician. But I always find myself drifting back and forth to old and new hero ideas people have created.

These are always just fun ideas to bring inspiration, I have also been having fun playing Largo... a guitar hero xD. Jeffostrove's post has helped with an idea in mind and I hope I have done the same for you! Always be creating, for fun and for yourself!

Looking pretty good, are these two gonna be assassin types or burst hero types or something else?

Secondly, what were you using to make those weapon stats and vitality stats? Doesn't look like anything that can be made in Deadmock(at least in my eyes).
 
I would hope they would be a assassin picking off targets they know they can kill. but Stella's version is a bit scarier and has more burst. I would have had both hero ideas with a -10% or -8% bullet resistance along with their other lower stats, since they have quite a bit of ways to become invulnerable and escapes. But can be easily solves from silences and roots.

Most of the planning and pictures comes from opening Deadlock, taking screen shots with prnt sc while editing them on mspaint and photoshop. A lot of back and forth, copy and pasting, and most importantly internet searching.

Remove background and finding images with no background is what allows me to make the silly edits with abilities and weapons.

Most images i put on the forums are dragged and dropped from my pc or the internet, resized on the draft, save draft, web page refreshed, i then check the bottom to see if i have drop duplicates or forgotten images that didnt get fully deleted.

I open up which ever hero i need but always look at everyone, sometimes using the wiki to help, I also play around with heroes movement and guns in the training room or city. Paying attention to stats, soul growth, game play growth, self experience etc etc

Abilities also play a small part, for example: To make some of the Fighter's abilities feel real, I put no cool down on and used mo'krill's roar while brainstorming melee button. This requires a BIT of imagination to use or understand haha..

I wish I was able to mess with the game itself to create heroes to test, I am sure a lot, a LOT of people would make some insane heroes while it lasts... (similar to how people added their "own" heroes to dota 1 when not the actual developer.) Maybe there is a unofficial way and I am just not that type of person to figure that out.

Sometimes I even open up other games that inspire me to help my current idea if it is similar.

There have been plenty of times where I realize things wont work out during my tests, numbers not adding up, or i actually do think it is complete only to realize something. Even if I cannot fully express my ideas in deadlock itself, playing with heroes, abilities and items in game does help.

I also use the forum's tools to help with creating my posts which is how I add the boxes, quotes, colors and links.

The reason I have not used deadmock is because when i open the forums on different browsers and try to read someone who used it, the images make their text in the image too small to read. so i decided to just type everything on the forums. this also allowed me to add as much detail as I wanted on a specific ability if desired along with extra stuff that could possibly not fit. deadlock forums are public to read and deadmock on some posts will lock tourist away from reading people's full ideas. I also feel it limits their ideas, causing some disruption in their creativity because of an image, that could just be me, but it does help flesh out kits as a mold.

(some people might even use auto translate.. might be more common than we think)

A lot of the work or assets I make dont get saved, just bad habit. Sometimes I leave everything in draft and sleep on what I wrote to have a fresh mind the next time I feel ready. Its always fun to think about heroes and seeing deadlock grow in our lifetime, while being a part of it in some way.

That's... alot of information, but, I can sort of see where you're going with this.

Well, I do hope that Deadmock does get updated with new stat tables like that in the future.
