The Silencer ( Silencer )

_N_

Member
Moving through the city as a shadow where magic fails. Wards collapse in his presence. Incantations lose their shape. Even seasoned mages find their thoughts slipping when he is near, as if the world itself refuses to listen. A master of magic, but only to break every spell he has already studied, measured, and stripped down to it's weakest form. Preparing endlessly, cataloging rituals, memorizing patterns of power until nothing surprises him. Those who encounter describe the same thing. Silence. A crushing absence where power once lived. Their magic does not shatter violently. It simply stops responding, as if it has been dismissed.

Entire sites of arcane conflict go cold overnight, their energy gone without trace. Where magic spirals out of control, he appears. Where spells threaten to consume their users. Where power grows too loud, too reckless, too certain of itself.

In the end, all things shall fall to silence.

Abilities
1765779595320.png

1)Arcane Curse
1765766718575.png
Applies a curse that deals spirit damage on affected enemies within the radius, also dealing spirit damage over time for a duration. Anytime an affected enemy hero casts an ability, the curse duration is increased.

A1 +5m range A2 +5m radius A3 +30 spirit damage over time and a 20% slow

Range: 20m
Radius: 5m
Initial damage: 75
Damage per second: 10
Duration: 6s
Duration increase per ability: 2s
Cool down: 18s

Slight delay before cast.

A3 slow lasts for the duration and will also be refreshed.

2)Arcane Circle
1765779136235.png1765778637851.png
The circle completes after a delay, applying silence while dealing spirit damage to any enemy within the radius.

A1 -5s cool down A2 +3m radius A3 +40 damage

Damage: 84
Range: 18m
Radius: 16m
Silence duration: 2s
Cool down: 18s
Delay: 2.6s

The circle is visible to everyone during the delay with a small cast time.

3Last Word
1765766883517.png
Passive
Your bullets apply a debuff that builds up per bullet. When full, enemy heroes with a full debuff will be silenced whenever they cast a spell.

Shots from your weapon make less sound when firing.

A1 +1s to all silences from abilities A2 deals 85 spirit damage upon Last word's silence A3 you deal +20% Weapon damage against silenced heroes

Debuff duration: 5s
Silence duration: 1.5
Cool down: 15s

Duration is 5s but can be refreshed per shot till target decides to cast an ability or do nothing while avoiding the refresh.
Cool down only occurs on individual heroes when silenced from Last Word. Cannot be reduced by cool down reductions.

Enemies who cast a spell during the debuff will be silenced, it will not place the ability on cool down or interrupt it.

Allows some silent farming when jungling.

4)Global Silence
1765767054769.png
Stops all sounds, preventing enemy heroes and enemies on the map from casting abilities.

A1 -20s cool down A2 applies Arcane curse for half the damage and duration A3 adds interruption to abilities

Range: Global
Cool down: 120s
Duration: 3s

Pierces unstoppable
Does not interrupt without A3

Slight delay before cast.

I would have not added "apply Arcane Curse" without agh's but decided to put it in anyways. Though I originally had it as a A3, I wanted to provide a interruption towards one of his abilities... very op!

Scrapped
x)Strangulate

1765776284992.png
Interrupt an enemy target hero. If they were channeling, deal spirit damage and silence them.

15m
Works on enemy heroes using teleporter, causing interruption and restarting the teleport count down to full.

x)Brain Drain 1
1765776744647.png
Enemy heroes that die within radius are given a stacking debuff, increasing the duration of all sources of silence on to them by 0.5s.

x)Brain Drain 2
1765769437890.png
Head shots apply a debuff, when full, a random ability that the enemy has on cool down will be increased by 1 second.

Enemy heroes that die within radius are given a stacking debuff, increasing their cool down to abilities by 1% per death. Silencer also gains a stacking buff that reduces the cool down to all abilities. Maximizing at 15%.

Enemy heroes can only have their cool down time increased to 15%

x)Curse of Silent
1765770318183.png
Curses the target area, causing enemy heroes to take spirit damage damage over time until they cast a spell.

Enemies who take the full duration of the curse will increase the duration of the next silence that happens to them.

Thoughts and finishes
Everyone loves Silencer... *crickets* okay okay he is a pain in the ass! I try to avoid playing him or banning him as i find him the most anti-fun hero, which is a good thing!!! I tend to be paired with people who gravitate towards right-click glaives of wisdom builds and they never actually utilizing his abilities properly, but boy does his right-clicks hurt! Curse and Last word have always been my favorite abilities from passive to abilities i can hit. Global silence is my over all favorite game changing ability. The way his abilities have changed over the years has shown that their really are two types of players. All I am preaching is his abilities comboing together and having to make the enemy think(if they choose to).

I would have written a Earth Spirit kit instead of a Silencer one, obviously with a gun. Despite being a complex hero, he would actually be fairly simple to play! ... maybe that's just my experience talking. But i 100% believe he would work!

Right clicking places a medium size Stone Remanent at your cross hair, can only be placed on a ground surface. Can be done in the air. Remnants pulled or pushed into the air are destroyed upon reaching their destination.

Not affected by Charge
Range: 60m
Remnant: 5
Remnant Duration: 60
Cool down: 18s / 1.5s
Gain 1 Remanent per 5 boons

Alt-Right clicking places a Remnant in front of Earth Spirit

Remnants are invulnerable, can be shot through and walk through. They do not count as objects or walls. Cannot go through walls(?) can be seen through walls and surfaces.

Abilties
1)Boulder Smash
1765773047995.png
Earth Spirit will smash the nearest viable target within the radius, prioritizing Stone Remnants. Sending the stone, enemy or ally, towards the direction you are facing. Dealing spirit damage and slowing all enemies hit.

Can be done in the air

2)Rolling Boulder
1765773272162.png
Gathers himself into a boulder and rolls toward the direction of your cross hair/facing after a slight delay, Earth Spirit will stop if he collides with an enemy hero or when being disabled. Dealing spirit damage and stunning enemy heroes.

Rolling over a Stone Remnant destroys it, causing Earth Spirit to travel further, faster, and stun enemy for a longer duration.

Can be done in the air

3)Geomagnetic Grip
1765773655789.png
Pulls the targeted allied or Stone Remnant. Enemies struck by the pulled target/stone will take spirit damage and become silenced.

Ally hero pull range is shorter than Stone pull range.
Can be done in the air

4)Magnetize
1765773811470.png
Magnetizes enemies in a small nearby area, causing them to take spirit damage over time for a short duration.

Magnetized heroes cause nearby Stone Remnants to explode, destroying the remnant and refreshing Magnetize's duration on all nearby enemies. This process can repeat multiple times.

Earth Spirit can utilize effected Stone Remnants before they're destroyed.

Heroes affected by the Magnetize debuff refreshes the Geomagnetic Grip silence and Boulder Smash slow duration.

Initial radius: 6m
Radius: 14m

I will never forget the first person I laned against was a Venomancer and just pushed him to tower constantly. A complete menace. Earth spirit's combo has changed throughout his time but he still feels good since the day he came out! Im no jerax though!

That was my quick version.. Honestly I wrote this up because I was having a struggle writing an 2nd ability for Silencer! But it was a fun little write up, I would love to see him and ES.

1765782256427.png

The big terrible Silencer! Sometimes going back to pull a old hero from dota could help find something missing in Deadlock. Even time away or taking a break can help rather than forcing it! I would love to see more heroes moved to Deadlock while also introducing completely new ideas or mixed (pocket/puck). Also, rather than avoiding adding Silencer.. I decided to write up a kit. Because EVERYONE loves being silenced or buying debuff remover! Count your souls! its a joke!

Quite an obnoxious hero.
All the more reason to have a fun... anti fun hero! > : )

A copy paste in a form of another.. maybe i have run out of ideas! I have been playing PoE 2 Druid, which makes me want to return to my old hero ideas, Rathalos and the Were-Raptor. I am more curious and patiently waiting to see what the devs have in store for us and maybe that will help understand their direction. Then I will see if I should provide more ideas.. for now I might be out of ideas! But everything is all for fun and just an idea to be inspired by! I only hope to motivate.

People are creating some cool ideas, along with a range of powerful art or funny art. Some abilities seem to be a bit much or hard to wrap my head around.. but people are changing their ideas, thinking and discussing different ways to work around them! I hope to read something they called finished or complete. Keep it up!

I hope both were a fun and interesting to read. Always stay creating.. but most importantly have fun while also taking care of yourself!

1765774806182.pngPoE 2 Druid Wyvren Form. No this is not a ad, i am sorry!! It's fun! dont kill me!!

Extra
I miss Trapper and some of the other hero labs along with the idea behind it. though when i tried it.. it very much was a hero lab and I was too inexperienced to properly figure out a way to play those heroes at the time and make feedback. I think Trapper worked in some ways but if i had to suggest a character of inspiration for him would be Byakuya from Under Night In-Birth. There were a lot of verity in some older anime/doujin fighting games with the limitations people had at the time. That's just my thought, I enjoyed using and seeing Trapper's web use. The other abilities.. not so much!

1765777225137.png

I saw on the wiki about Druid.. A bush sprouting.. to be used like a small wall? to prevent rolling? but can jump over/mantle? i think that would be cool. But maybe for a more Elf/Tree hero.. unless it was a halfling druid.. I think people would want Druid to be more of a shapeshifter or elemental nature master.. that could also just be my opinion! which i think it is : (

1765778504245.pngfrom the deadlock wiki

I am sure there are metrovania/castelvania, platformers and some other genres, let it be a boss or side character that can help inspire a new idea to continue making deadlock fun, different and interesting game! But it is always difficult to think up stuff. Yeah.. what about a guy who can place platforms? Similar to Kelvin.. who knows what we will see coming!
