Hero Concept/Idea: Budd the Scarecrow

Adding here, I had an idea for a scarecrow character. I'm not an artist nor have any faith in how I've balanced any of these abilities, but I wanted to tie in the idea of having a support who could provide more rapid healing via a health pack like item with that of a friendly scarecrow who creates stuff.

Budd - Produce Farm Empower

Lore:

Pottstown was once a small farming community just on the outskirts of Pennsylvania. The farmers in the town were botanomancers, capable of growing plants in any season, delivering some of the finest produce to the New York markets. However, on the night of the first Maelstrom, harsh winds blew into the town. In the morning, nothing was left except the scarecrows.

Years went by, as what little remained of the town was left to ruin. However, one day, a passerby noticed something odd. The empty fields of the town had been tilled again and were quickly growing plants, as a lone scarecrow tended them.

The strawman appeared oblivious to the state of the town, and to himself, as if he was nothing more than its echo. He now frequents the local market weekly, although no one stops by his stall, or asks where he gets his produce. Yet, the strawman always displays a cheery disposition as they greet potential patrons. All the scarecrow wishes for is that someday people will enjoy their produce again.

Weapon - The Bailer

Spreadshot (Close Range) - Similar to Pocket's primary weapon, a close range black powder shotgun that falls off at far ranges. A large pitchfork has been fashioned to the front as a bayonet. The pitchfork would be used for the heavy melee animation.

Abilities:

1 - Scarecrownies

Summon a Scarecrow effigy. When an enemy or npc is in it’s radius, they will take damage from spectral crows that descend from the scarecrow. Spectral crows apply stacks of Spooked. If Spooked hits max stacks, a player will receive a debuff that increases spirit damage taken for 5 seconds. Scarecrows can be destroyed. Scarecrows will disappear after a set duration (24 seconds).

(Possible Upgrades: Damage scaling, duration of scarecrows, duration of spooked, radius of scarecrows, scarecrow firing speed)

2 - Pumpkin Patch-up

Choose a spot on the field to grow spectral pumpkins. When an ally passes through a pumpkin, they regain 15% of max health rapidly and the pumpkin disappears. Pumpkins grow over time as long as the patch remains active. The patch will disappear after 30s, producing a pumpkin every 10s. Pumpkins can be destroyed by enemies, if all pumpkins in the patch are destroyed, the patch will become inactive and disappear.

(Possible Upgrades: Increased health regen, increased generation, reduced cooldown, increased move speed on pick up, reduced cooldown when allies pick up, increased duration)

3 - Tillage

Summon a spectral Plow that will travel forward for 4 seconds, the plow deals a low amount of spirit damage and slows players hit in its path. Constructs created by Budd (Scarecrows, Pumpkins) will have their attributes boosted if hit by the plow. Pumpkins will be produced faster and scarecrows will fire faster. Holding down the channel button while casting this ability will allow Budd to ride the plow forward. Releasing the button will allow Budd to hop off the plow.

(Possible Upgrades: Increased travel distance, decreased cooldown, fire weapon while on plow, increases construct benefits, increased damage, maybe slow becomes stun on hit)

4 - Pott’s Field

Choose an area on the ground to cover in a spectral field for 10 seconds. When standing in the field, allied outgoing damage is increased by 15%, fire rate by 20%, and gun damage is now infused with spirit. Enemies who walk into the field will become silenced. Benefits and enemy silence do not persist if leaving the field.

(Possible Upgrades: Increased radius, standing in field now heals based on outgoing damage, reduced cooldown, further increased firing rate, activating Pott’s field will now summon 2 scarecrows.)
