Not much is known about the Nameless Man with the many masks. Some say his father was the owner of a Halloween costume shop that sold plenty of masks. When the Maelstrom hit, multiple spirits bound themselves to the masks and attached themselves to the Nameless Man, sealing his fate. Others believe he was a member of the Baxter Society, hunting down these masks filled with dangerous magic, and in order to ensure they would never fall in the wrong hands, he took it upon himself to wear them all. While others believe he was never a man at all. A mystical creature with no face of their own, other than the three masks they bear. His motives are incomprehensible, one of the few things most people agree on. At times, he has been known to help the Baxter society with certain supernatural problems. Other times he has actively opposed them. While his motives remain an enigma, another thing most people agree on is that the Nameless man has been appearing a lot more frequently in the last few years. What's changed? What does he want? Where did he get all those masks? The man comes with many questions and rue the day when someone answers at least one of them.
Strauss never had much to begin with. He had a semi-stable job and barely enough money to pay for his cramped apartment and his mother's hospital bills. But that all changed when he became a victim of mass layoffs. Without a job, he was forced out to the streets and was forced to say goodbye to his mother. The only thing he had to his name was the musical instruments he played with as a hobby. Now he was forced to perform on the streets for his survival. It was rough and he came close to ending it many times. That was when he saw his former boss, fine dining in a five star restaurant across the street. His fine suit. His lavish dinner. His carefree laughter. Him and everyone else sitting at that table, without a care in the world about their choices and the impact they've had on other people. While he stared at his former boss enjoying his meal, the Maelstrom struck New York. He couldn't say what compelled him to pick up his violin at that moment. Only that it felt right. He put the bow on the strings, and played a single note. Suddenly, the windows on the resturant were shattered and his former employer and all his rich friends had their throats slit wide open. Strauss didn't know what happened nor how. But in that moment, all he cared about was how good it felt. Since that night, there has been a string of murders targeting wealthy businessmen, with no evidence or suspects. The only consistent lead the authorities have to go off of, is the beautiful music that witnesses keep hearing in the wake of these murders
Ingrid Talbot was bitten by a werewolf at a young age and was rescued by a member of the Baxter Society who took her in after her family were slaughtered by the same creature that bit her. She grew up trying to manage her condition every full moon, and as a result she was shunned and feared by the rest of the Baxter Society. But she didn't care. She would prove her worth. At first she tried to suppress her carnal instincts on her first missions. But her mentor and foster father figure encouraged her to make use of her lycanthropic talents. She was reluctant at first, but she eventually gave in to her father's advice. It was difficult at first, but over time she quickly mastered her werewolf talents, gradually making a name for herself as one of the best hunters in the Society. However, despite her best efforts, she still felt like an outcast with something to prove. And it most certainly didn't help that her rival and frenemy, Shiv kept outshining her accomplishments. But that won't stop her from proving to the Baxter Society that she was the best hunter in the organization
