This will be extremely bare bones and very non-descriptive but this very idea would eat inside of me if I didn't put it out into the world in some fashion. I merely like the story concept of what I am pitching here. In all honesty, abilities are not my strong suit but I feel extremely confident on the backstory I can provide here, and feel that there is real potential within this concept.
BACKSTORY:
"Dave" will have been a clay or plaster prototype of Michealangelo's David statue. Michelangelo would think that this version was flawed in a sense that it's expression came off as too saddening or human. He would then try to destroy it during a fit of perfectionism, burying the statue within the mud of the Opera del Duomo workshops (before its eventual creation). While Michelangelo would be on the run due to evading his death sentence in 1530, he would rediscover this prototype in the cellar he'd be hiding in. Instead of fixing it, Michelangelo would choose to leave it in the dark and instead sketch on the walls of his cellar until he was eventually pardoned and moved to Rome, where he'd live until his passing in 1564. For centuries, "Dave" would sit in the dark having to hear muffled tourists above praising Michealangelo's David.
When the first maelstrom hits, it provides this prototype life with the vindictive goal of surpassing or even replacing entirely the David statue itself in popularity, status, and vanity.
VISUALS:
One arm of his may be perfectly polished while the rest of his body is rough with stone and visible chisel marks. He will carry a sling from which he will throw shards of his own marble body at the enemy for his main weapon. he may also wear a cloth to cover half of his chest as well as his groin.
Large sections of his torso will be dark and wet terracotta clay, with hardened Carrara White Marble bursting out of such. Rusted iron rods would protrude from all of his limbs to provide a sort of skeleton for Dave. There may be also deep orange or black mineral stains from weathering during the 500 dormant years.
His face is permanently stuck with a hardened, saddening look which he can never change, representing the futility of his actions, that despite his work he may never be able to change his fate... With only one caveat, being the ritual.
Color wise a majority of his body will be a hardened white marble while another half will be a brown clay.
GUN:
Dave's gun would be him going within his burlap sack and throwing portions of himself at the enemy. Hard sharpened points of marble. These would be parts of himself that he collected during his journey to New York for the ritual, as well as any other debris or remnants of Michelangelo's works. Possibly each round of his gun may deal varying damage than another, due to him throwing larger shards from within the burlap sack.
