Spirit Hack - McGinnis ult rework

McGinnis Ult does a ton of damage but feels not great to use - even when I go full spirit I often times just like running around using turrets, walls, and heals. The Heavy Barrage can be useful, but only goes so far unless you have extreme elevation.

I suggest a rework - a Remote Possession or Spirit Hack. McGinnis targets a turret, Guardian, or Walker on the map and hacks into it, buffing it a fair amount maybe with stats based on her own, healing it over time, and allowing her to use Heavy Barrage from the target as well as possibly its own attacks.

This leads into the character fantasy of her being a genius engineer AND of controlling big hunks of machinery.

Additionally, McGinnis should be shit talking enemies through a static'y radio as she's blasting them from the objective (her body is dormant during this time as she's hacking). If using it on a turret, it's possible that the turret should get larger and maybe be able to move around a little to position.

Naw, what they should do is rework McGinnis ult to function like the rocket salvo weapon from Titanfall 2. Shoot soul rocket straight forward towards the crosshairs and explode on impact with target or terrain, etc. She has the same slowing affect her ult has now and still can't fire but can reload. Each level increases the damage and splash area and number of rockets fired and length of the ability. Max level gives her temporary bonus movement speed when the ult ends.

See the rocket salvo the player shoots at the ejecting pilot in the linked video.

I always thought some kind of artillery strike would suit her much better. Like bangalore's ult from apex legends. You know, requesting an artillery strike, then blocking the enemy from running out of it by using her wall, sounds like a great combo and generally fun to use.

I like that also. Honestly, either your or my idea would work better than the current version.

Would you add in a beacon with a small delay, think nuclear launch from Starcraft Ghost units, or just like Bangalore?

Personally, I imagined the artillery shooting up in the sky as Ginis "prepares" her ult for a few seconds (like lashe's ult, let's say, then she just choses an area where they land (like any AOE ability in the game, Geist, Vindicta, etc). This way enemies have enough time to react, while Ginis is still able to move freely and use other abilities. This might make her ult a really strong objective contested (mid boss, urn, or just pushing towers).

I like that. How about if we would simplify it more - she tosses a beacon on the ground like a range target ability like Giest bomb, Vindicate, etc. It has some sort of visual indicator and then after a moment of time (seconds) the artillery shoots up out of her backpack gear and then impacts in a radius around the beacon.

Basically, changing what you said around - ability placement than the artillery launches. That way she is pressing button doing ult and then free to move again. Instead of pressing button moving, etc. and then placing once artillery has launched. Just to make it a little less clunkish.
