LORE
Despite being twins, Sigurd and Siegfried were not born on the same day. Siegfried was born much earlier than intended resulting in lifelong health complications, while Sigurd was born on time growing up both healthy and strong. Due to Siegfrieds’ poor health, he spent most of his youth indoors studying the arcane and the occult. Often this would lead to possible discovery of a powerful artifact or ancient knowledge, however he would never be able to confirm it due to his inability to leave the home. Sigurd on the other hand was more than capable and willing to help his brother in his endeavors, as well as experience some adventure for himself. However, these adventures were filled with dangers such as traps, supernatural creatures, monsters and powerful occultists. As dangers escalated Siegfried realized that despite his brothers’ strength and cunning he would still need help on his travels. So, using the knowledge he acquired over the years he created two powerful artifacts to help his brother, later he would forge a third when Sigurd lost his eye.
The first artifact was the Hlíns’ Belt which provided protection against the arcane and the occult.
The second artifact was Gram, a magical sword capable of cutting an anvil in half without even touching it.
The third artifact was the Helm of Wotan which not only restored Sigurds’ sigh after losing his eye but also let him see briefly into the future letting him evade attacks.
After some time, Siegfrieds’ health started to deteriorate, and it was getting harder for him to get out of bed each morning. Nothing could help, neither medicine modern or old, nor could any spells or occult rituals, it would seem all hope was lost. Until Sigurd heard about the Patrons and decided that he would summon them in exchange for saving his brother.
GAMEPLAY
Weapon: Gram
The regular attack (LMB) has Sigurd swinging the sword right to left then left to right. With each swing the sword launches a wide horizontal wave of energy that pierces enemies, however each enemy hit reduces the size and damage of the wave.
The alt-fire (RMB) has Sigurd raise the sword up and then swing it down. This launches a vertical wave of energy that does more damage but no longer pierces enemies.
Optional addition: The energy waves deal Gun damage however you can make it, so the sword swing themselves deal melee damage. So, when attacking someone at very close range you deal damage both with the energy wave AND the sword swing.
Abilities:
Grams’ Wrath - Empower your sword allowing it to deal spirit damage and reduce enemy spirit and bullet resist.
Eye of Wotan - Gain the ability to see nearby enemies behind walls and gain bullet evasion.
Hlíns’ Protection -
Passive: Gain spirit resist.
Active: Gain a barrier. While barrier is active gain debuff reduction
Sigurds’ Strength - Unleash a shout that Interrupts nearby enemies. Gain Health Regeneration, Bullet Resist and Spirit Resist. The bonuses increase with missing health.
Additional information:
Sigurd doesn’t stop when using a light melee attack and can move while charging a heavy melee attack.
CHARACTER DESIGN

The main inspiration for this hero is Sigurd/Siegfried from Norse/Germanic mythology with elements from the myth being used in the design. The second inspiration is Conan the Barbarian, more precisely the barbarian architype. The character first appeared in 1932 in short stories, but the first book came out in 1950, which is around the same time Deadlock takes place.
The helmet is called a Gjermundbu helmet and is a Viking era helmet with chainmail. The runes on the eye of the helmet spell “Sight” in Elder Futhark. I named the helmet the Helm of Wotan because Wotan is the Germanic name for Odin and Odin sacrificed his eye in exchange for knowledge as well as foresight. The foresight part is shown off in the evasion in the ability Eye of Wotan.

On the chest the word “Unstoppable” is written in Elder Futhark. The rest of his body is covered in scars showing his incredible durability.
Around the hips you can see a belt with the word “Protection” written in Elder Futhark, and it serves as the source of his third ability. I named it the Hlíns’ Belt since Hlín is referred in some sources as the goddess of protection.
The sword is called Gram since it’s the sword Sigurd/Siegfried had in the myth. The design of the sword is based on the sword made by the company Windlass, which makes historically accurate equipment, or in this case a somewhat accurate depiction of the sword according to the myth. The sword design seems to be based on the Langeid sword. Now the Windlass design had some runes “representing “protection”, “oak”, “gift”, “fire” and “serpent” adorn the blade, bottom of the pommel and brass collar on the leather grip.”, which I have replaced with words written in Elder Futhark. On the blade the words “Dragon Slayer” are written referencing Sigurd/Siegfried slaying the dragon Fáfnir. On the handle I wrote “Power” and on the pommel I wrote “Strength”.

ABILITY EFFECTS
The runes on the body and items should glow when the corresponding ability is used:
For Grams’ Wrath (1) you can the runes and/or the sword glow when it’s active.
For Eye of Wotan (2) you can have the runes glow in such a way that it looks like an eye.
For Hlíns’ Protection (3) you can have the belt glow as well as giving it a Counterspell effect when you get the T3 upgrade.
For Sigurds’ Strength (4) you can have the runes on his chest glow, as well as having a slight distortion effect around him when he activates the ability, like Kruber from Vermintide 2 when he uses Morale Boost. The shout voice lines should be like Bardins’ voice lines when he uses his Leap ability.
PERSONALITY
Should probably be a mix of Conan the barbarian from the original books, Sven from Dota 2 and Bardin from Vermintide 2. Voice should be a mix of Sven and Chaos Knight from
