Shadow Soul Dash
Cloak yourself in shadows and dash straight forward. You receive Bullet and Spirit resist for the duration of the dash and apply -6% spirit resist debuff to anyone you dash through. This effect is applied after the dash is completed and is increased by an additional 6% for how many players are dashed through.
25% Bullet/Spirit resist
Debuff duration: 4 seconds
distance: 10m
Hitbox range: 2.5m from user's model
Cooldown: 50 seconds
(If used in the air, gravity does not effect the dash and momentum from the dash is maintained)
(it is not possible to use abilities or shoot your weapon during the dash)
Reasoning:
The original concept for this item had come from a number of things, i felt like the magic of Yamato's Shadow Soul could have been better incorporated more into the world and gameplay of deadlock as right now, Yamato feels the most separated and alien of the cast imo. I feel like the shady item dealer must have figured out some way of using the shadow soul magic to incorporate it into a combat item and i feel like this is a good way to do it.
From a gameplay perspective, i am a big fan of the movement possible within deadlock, how momentum can be scaled and maintained through knowing the map and where you can gain it. Shadow Soul Dash helps fill in the active tier 3 slots and assists with movement in a great way through it's +15% dash distance (Can even be higher/lower) and the movement boost it grants you when used in the air making it a great escape or jungling tool for characters such as lash or Talon and it's long cooldown can make you think about if you want to use it just for an engage/escape or as a combative/supportive tool with it's spirit resist debuff that could possibly turn a team fight if used properly, still with the risk that you could be throwing yourself right into the team. Shadow Soul Dash also does not invalidate the utility of warp stone neither as it does not move you in the direction you are looking, but straight forward where you are facing.
This is the updated version of my original concept for Shadow Soul Dash, changed using the feedback i have received and through realisations i had made myself through a personal review. I have added extra detail to the mechanics of SSD in attempts to keep it true to the original concept yet making it less powerful and unique to itself. The primary changes are the removal of the invulnerability during the dash, with it being changed to a bullet/spirit resist instead which aligns it better with Yamato's ult and does not replace the utility of ethereal shift. The cooldown of SSD has been increased by 2 seconds, originally it was 3 warp stones for 2 SSD but now it is a slightly longer wait. SSD no longer deals spirit damage and is purely a utility tool that can help set up spirit-focussed engagements (I can think of a dynamo dashing in to set up a huge ult) or be used as a mobility tool that wont be a cheap 'get out of jail free card'.
If theres anymore feedback people have for this item i would still love to hear it, thank you.
