Seeking help with persistent crash issue

Hello all,

I hope you’re all doing well. I wanted to reach out because I truly love Deadlock and I really want to keep playing it — but I’ve been stuck with a persistent crash issue that I’ve been unable to resolve despite extensive troubleshooting.

I’ve played over 600 hours of Deadlock, and it has become one of the games I genuinely enjoy and keep coming back to. I’m not someone who gives up easily on technical issues, and I’ve spent a lot of time trying to fix this because I want to keep playing and supporting the game.

Unfortunately, Deadlock consistently crashes my system with a VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR (0x119), often leading to a full reboot. What makes this especially frustrating is that this issue appears only with Deadlock — other games and workloads run without issues.

Over the past weeks, I’ve gone very deep trying to resolve this on my end. To give you an idea of the effort involved, I have:

  • Performed multiple clean Windows installations
  • Updated BIOS and firmware
  • Tested different Windows versions and graphics drivers
  • Disabled hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling, G-SYNC, overlays, and background captures
  • Forced very conservative GPU settings (power limits, memory downclock, locked voltage/frequency curve)
  • Disabled ReBAR / Above 4G decoding
  • Forced PCIe Gen3
  • Disabled PCIe ASPM and power management
  • Disabled CPU power-state transitions (C-states / Speed Shift where possible)
  • Tested with minimal graphics settings and capped FPS
  • Carefully monitored system stability and crash logs

Despite all of this, the crash still occurs in Deadlock.

I want to emphasize that I’m not writing this out of frustration or to complain. I’m writing because I genuinely care about the game and would love your help in understanding what might be happening. If there is any known issue, experimental workaround, debug build, launch option, or additional logging I can enable to help diagnose this, I would be more than happy to do so.

If there’s anything specific you’d like me to test or provide (logs, crash dumps, system info, reproduction steps), I’m fully willing to help. I just want to be able to keep playing a game I’ve already invested hundreds of hours into.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for all the work you’ve put into Deadlock. I truly hope there’s a way forward here.

Warm regards,
