Recurring Game Breaking Issue playing on Linux, Constant Disconnects.

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
Memory: 6683MiB / 31795MiB
Most recent match ID where this happened: 38177928

Bug: in a random match, the characters in the game will start rubber-banding until the point where all characters freeze and I can no longer move (over the course of a couple seconds, see attachment). After this It disconnects me or I do it myself (no difference in outcome) and I try to rejoin. Without fail the issue happens again at some random point in the same match and keeps happening until the match ends. Recently this bug has been happening almost every game I play and has made deadlock an unplayable experience for me, sadly. This bug is a deadlock exclusive bug, my computer can run every other game flawlessly (given a good protondb rating) deadlock is the only game where this issue occurs.

Throughout my time playtesting deadlock, I have had this issue pop up now and again, spontaneously and seemingly at random. I do not change the game between matches where is does and does not happen in any way. Throughout my 8 months of this issue occurring I have not found a permanent solution. I do not see anyone else have this issue when looking through the reddit, discord, or forums and in testing the fixes in related problems, none seem to work. The issue seems to be a connection issue of some kind because my game itself does not crash, I only get disconnected.

Things I tried:
verifying game files (does not work)
uninstalling and reinstalling deadlock (issue still occurs)
Installing deadlock on another drive (tested with ssd vs hard drive and there is no difference)
driver update (no change)
different proton versions (nothing)
trying proton GE (no change)
disabling/enabling steam recording (no change)
rejoining the match only lasts for a couple minutes before another disconnect. (see attachment)
disabling/ uninstalling mods (no effect)
game launch settings (various settings, none prevented this bug)
closing discord (no change)
restarting steam (no change)

I only use one keyboard layout

This bug makes this came completely unplayable for me and I have not found any fix that consistently works even temporarily. I got a recent time out with this last match which prompted me to make this bug report. It has become unbearable to play this game on linux so I hope this gets fixed or a solution is found.

I just started getting this issue as well. I've tried reinstalling the game and updating/restarting my PC.

You say you've had this issue for 8 months? I only just started experiencing it in my last two matches. I wonder if it's a server specific issue. Or ISP because I did recently move Not ISP because I don't get the issue at all on Windows. My connection seems pretty reliable, 1Gib, ~10 ping. Don't have connection issues with any other game.

I played 4 matches today. The first two were flawless, the the last two I was getting constant disconnects.

I hope this gets resolved, but if it's not occurring on Ubuntu then they might not even look into it since Arch is not officially supported by Proton. Maybe they'll release a native Linux version 🤞
