What if there was an item upgrade for trophy collector similar to how darkseal upgrades to majais in league? For those who have zero idea what im talking about, dark seal is a cheap early game item in league that gives substandard stats in exchange for the ability to stack it on kills/assists, with stacks lost on death (similar to glass cannon). On the whole it is worth it if you get stacks and subpar without. Something you can do with darkseal is upgrade it to Majais at any time, which changes a few things. Majais ups the max stacks from 10 to 25, increases the scaling of stats you get from those stacks (4ap to 5) and if you have at least 10 stacks majais gives you 10 percent move speed (a huge deal in league). You can probably see where Im going with this.
What if the trophy collector we have now behaved like darkseal, and upgraded into a bigger item (working name of trophy hoarder). It would work similarly, so as an example here is an idea of stats:
Current trophy stats:
-15% npc damage
2m sprint speed
2 health regen out of combat
0.2m sprint speed, 0.75 range on stack, 18 souls per minute on stack, max of 16 stacks
Idea trophy hoarder stats:
-15% npc damage
2m sprint speed (or movespeed if not strong enough or if builds from enduring as well, elaborated on at the end)
2 health regen out of combat
stack effects:
0.1m movespeed, 1% ability range, 25 souls per minute, 25 health per stack, max of 25-30 stacks (could be more too but capping it in general is probably good, leave the uncapped to enhanced trophy/an enhanced version of this)
You could also nerf the base stacks of trophy if you wanted to, or keep the sprint speed instead of making it half value move speed, but I really like the idea of adding health per stack back as an optional upgrade. This item would be the ultimate win more item like old trophy was supposed to be. However, unlike old trophy, you can offset the up front cost by having existing stacks on the smaller trophy collector. Also if this is in fact too strong (because it might be) you can make it lose stacks on death with the upgrade (probably 2 stacks on death).Realistically this is an item you wouldn't see too much, but would show up to shorten games that are already mostly decided, or to even the odds where you are the only one doing well on your team and you already have a stacked trophy.
Also, as a last note: potential buffs/nerfs if needed:
buff: make the out of combat regen into base regen instead buff: make the move speed higher than 0.1, or match trophy with 0.2m move speed instead of sprint (probably a bad idea since one item giving you 4m move speed is very strong, but not completely out of the range of possibilities since it does require 2m move speed)
buff: ability range to 1.25% per stack (also probably a bad idea since this gets truly insane fast (37.5% ability range at 20 stacks goes well beyond greater expansion, and anyone that has played against enhanced trophy in street brawl knows how annoying that can be, especially in combination with greater expansion)
nerf: remove the move speed and keep sprint speednerf: make the max stacks smaller (but I really like the idea of max stacks being higher than trophy)
nerf: the aforementioned stack loss on death, potential values between 1 and 5
nerf: make the npc damage nerf stronger, I'm thinking 20-25% to make it even harder to buy for people who need to farm. Alternatively, as a buff you could remove the npc damage nerf on hoarder so you can remove that nerf if you pay a lot for it.
adjustment: make it build from both trophy and enduring speed. This would both be a buff since it would make the cost only 3.2k if you have both, and I would say the base item would now be 2m move speed with this version instead of sprint speed, but this would prevent having both enduring and this item for all the variants with move speed as the stacking stat, meaning move speed stacking would be harder. You would need juggernaut to do that, which is a more uncommon and expensive buy than just enduring.
