Trophy Collector rework concept

Hello everyone,

Trophy Collector is an item that, on the surface, seems tailored for the support role, but practically no support (or player in any other role) uses it because the stats it provides don’t justify the cost. Plus, you have to build up stacks as quickly as possible for it to be worth it, and that’s not always possible.

In my opinion, it should be an item much more focused on fulfilling your support role, and to that end, my proposal is to make Trophy Collector an active ability.

Its core would remain the same—an item that grants stats and souls after kills or assists—but now each stack earned should be more skill-based and not just a result of being nearby.

The active ability would be cast via point-and-click on the target enemy, marking them with a red aura (like when you cast Stalker), visible to everyone and applying an increased damage taken effect. (To prevent it from becoming a carry item, the amplified damage would only apply to your allies, not to you.)

With this format, earning stacks would be a bit more complicated, so I also suggest that after killing or assisting in the kill of an enemy for the first time, you earn 2 stacks instead of 1. That way, if you contribute to the deaths of all 6 enemies in a match, you’d immediately earn 12 stacks, and (at least with the current stack count) you’d only need to contribute to 4 more kills.

Continuing with the idea of making this item more geared toward the support role, where it’s somewhat harder to obtain souls, it would also be interesting to add mechanics involving neutral objectives. Let me explain:

The item could grant benefits if you carry the urn, for example, +1 to movement speed and extra souls upon delivery (I know this is already a general mechanic, but the idea is to enhance it when you purchase the item), but this would need to be tested because I’m not sure how overpowered it might end up being. Following the same logic, if your team kills the Mid Boss (and you’re in the fight), it could grant you a small temporary buff (lasting just a few seconds) to regeneration and movement speed so you can heal quickly after killing the Mid Boss and rush to the shop/urn, almost as if it were applying the effects of Fortitude.

Kind regards.
