New players matchmaking pool

I'll just say as someone who is one of those brand new people..
I did the tutorials to learn how to play but that doesn't mean I know "how" to play.

Got into one game and got rolled, it was not fun for me either in that context.
In hindsight I guess it makes sense given the total population but I guess I had expected to be dropped into a game with other brand new people or bots or something else.

hidden mmr clearly doesn't work right now, warden and vindicta played their first game probably.

As a new player, it was just nice to be able to jump in and play. The tutorials were pretty straightforward, and I feel like despite if I won or lost, I had fun. Isn't that what matters at the end of the day? I'm sure Valve will have plenty of time to fix all of these bugs more towards official beta release, but for now let's be thankful for the product we've been given access to and enjoy the vibes!

I'd have to say I don't see a reason for it this early into a development build of the game. There's already limited people in this and furthermore the emphasis is to see what is needed to be improved upon for the game by acquiring feedback on what should be changed, added, etc.. I'm sure matchmaking will be developed in time and it definitely is something that I can see as not so new player friendly, but the main point right now is to play, enjoy and provide feedback on what should be addressed and worked on for the more pressing matters of a playtest.

Yeah, you have a point , but try to understand the other view of the situation.
You sweat your ass off against same skill lvl opponents on the lane to find out later that your team has double digits deaths and networth gap is more than 20k

Okay so I think offering feedback about match making quality on the play test is exactly what these forums are for. That and other feedback. And Valve have already installed an MMR tracking system, which means there is an attempt to balance the matches for an intended, even-ish challenge but it doesn't appear to be working, I've wracked up nearly a hundred hours now and can say that over half of my matches are one sided, or someone has left. There's already penalties in place for leaving, Valve are aware and are working on this.

So the idea that this feedback is invalid for the playtest is pretty much none sense.

A new player pool would be great, for new players and for people that are ready to take the game more seriously and want to explore the depths of the mechanics when everyone is geared, like we can't gather that feedback consistently because the Match making quality is often so poor in the first place and is something that needs to be addressed for better quality feedback on the more important balance of heroes and items.

I do agree that "sweating your ass off" in-lane versus an opponent of equal or superior skill and then seeing your team 0-10 across the board after 15 minutes feels pretty bad 😂.

Hopefully as more development goes on, things are changed from a "per lane" basis to a more generalized MMR for the entire team. Of similar skill levels.
