Mouse capture breaks after opening steam chat on dual monitor setup

I have a dual monitor setup where my secondary monitor is to the left of the primary one. When I open the steam overlay with Shift + Tab, then open a chat with a friend, by default that chat shows up on my second monitor. After I close the steam overlay, I can't look left in deadlock, because the mouse is not captured by the game window and instead goes to the second monitor. The issue persists even after moving the chat window to the primary monitor, until I restart the game.

I have had a similar issue, where tabbing out the game and returning to it does not rebind my cursor to the game. Pressing "B" to open the shop menu rebinds the cursor to the game, if you are still having this issue.
